Thumbs down as far as me owning one. But thumbs up for other people in places where there isn't much traffic. I don't think they are super safe for busy areas.

I've seen a few around here though (In eastern CT and throughout RI)...I'm really wondering how safe they really are.

Down for me. I have seen a couple around here, but you would never be able to get a kid in that car and that is my mindset. Even DH's truck was bought with the direct reason we could get a carseat (or two) in the back.

Thumbs down for me... I think they look a little weird and wonder how they drive when you're next to big trucks and stuff! It doesn't seem like it'd be very safe to me! Plus, with a family on my mind, I don't think that it'd work very well for us. We drive pretty fuel efficient cars right now, so we'll stick with those.

I'm sideways. I think they are great for kidless people who don't travel on interstates and such. I don't even know if they can go fast enough for the interstate actually!
When were in Rome, they were everywhere - but that's just because Rome is a very non-family city for the locals. Apparently outside the city limits you see more "normal" cars.
I can say that we saw one get in an accident with a non-Smart car. It sounded like someone dropped a tupperware bowl on the kitchen floor. Not really a crash, more of a thunk!

Thumbs down for me personally. Where would the baby go?
But thumbs up to have the option of something like this in in the U.S. We need more fuel efficient car options.

Thumbs sideways...I wouldn't want one personally, but I know someone that has one and she loves it. She is a super tall lady, and she says she fits great in there (and yes, she does drive it on the highway, too ) But it's not practical for a family car!

I think they're great for some people, just not for me.
recently I saw a lady driving one of them, while smoking a cigarette! Talk about irony!!!

Thumbs sideways for me too. I think they are great, but just not great for me. I have a friend while at the gas station saw one go through the car wash in front of them. The pressure of the water dented in the hood. The owner popped it back out with his hand. YIKES!

E! The Micro Car! Thumbs up. Though I couldn't get one. I see them a lot here. Yesterday on my way to work I got passed by one and it was towing a small motorcycle pod behind it. I got a pic of it with my camera phone. It was so cute!
