yep, it is our first home, and it's in an adjacent town to where I live now. I've been living in this area for years, so I've familiar with it. We're buying the house from my mom, which is so nice for so many reasons. We know all the things that need to be done, as well as it being a wonderful deal. We have been wanting to buy a house since March, and we weren't sure it'd be feasable, b/c even tho we feel we make enough, the bank says differently. We very comfortable pay in rent 300$ more then we got approved for as our max payment, and that made housebuying unrealistic. But now, with my mom being the financier, it's going to work out so wonderfully.
About the house: it's a 3/2, 2 car garage with a nice big yard and a large storage shed. The master has a walk in closet and good sized bath, which we're going to remodel to put in a
jacuzzi tub and a walk in shower, and make the closet smaller. The garage we're going to convert into a efficency appartment to rent out, which will be a great investment. That is about all we want to do now, well- and cosmetic stuff like painting, carpets and decor.
I'm also really excited about having a garden. I want to plan a bunch of food producing things- tomatoes, berries, vegetables and greens. There already are two small banana trees and an orange tree too. I'd love to plant a fig tree too.
I'm so happy we'll be able to buy a house before we have a baby, it'll be so much nicer then renting and moving yearly.
