So ladies. I had my doctor appt today, I would have updated earlier, but gosh, I didn't feel like typing it out.. lol.

Well I got there for my 11 am appt, to a waiting room full of babies and pregnant women. Normally I'm not really that affected by it, but I had a rough night so I was extra sensitive. I got called back and told the nurse why I was there. She weighed me and took my blood pressure, I informed her that last time I was there I had blood work and an ultrasound done, so she made sure to check on that before sending in the doc.

The doctor comes in and let me know that my ultrasound and blood work were completely normal (no one ever called and let me know so I was wondering). We went over my charts and everything that was talked about at my last appt. She mentioned losing a little bit of weight, that it could be what is affecting my cycles. That kind of offended me, I'm no where near overweight, I've just got a little bit of chub .

We're concerned with how long this cycle has been (60 days and still going). If my period hasn't shown in another 3 weeks she's going to order Provera for me. She also ordered a blood test to see if I am pregnant or not (still waiting for her to call back and let me know, but I'm pretty positive I'm not).

Ok so the plan is... I have to call the Naval Hospital tomorrow to schedule a HSG, she also ordered a SA for Jeff, he just has to collect his "sample" and bring it to a civilian lab (hopefully it's "normal" this time and not a low count). She's also going to put in a referral for me to see a fertility specialist, since there's not really any more the base hospital can do for me.

So, I'm a little nervous about the HSG, but I know it's worth it to see if everything is clear. I'm also a little nervous about seeing a RE, I have no idea how that is going to go .

Speaking from the point of view of another military spouse, it's probably a good thing to just go ahead and be referred off base. I'm not sure what you're Naval Hospital is like, but ours here in Pensacola has a really high turnover rate for Dr's, and the continuity in care is just not there. I've had to start over with so many Dr's, which is tough because I have a complicated medical history with my thyroid.
I've seen Dr's off base and it seems to be way easier to get appointments and see the SAME Dr each time, which gives them some accountability to you

Hope things start picking up speed for you towards that BFP. Maybe the Dr will call with some GREAT news and you can just avoid the hassle. Does she think you never O'd and that's why no AF? It seems weird to have a LP that just goes on and on.

thanks ladies.. your support means a lot to me.

My doc just called me back to let me know the blood test was negative (like I knew it would be ). She also let me know that she talked to some other providers on base and they do infertility somewhat. So she's going to talk to them tomorrow about what they'll be willing to do for me and if it's up to par I'll be staying there instead of being referred off-base (which is a good thing in some ways because then everything will be covered via Tricare).

Casey.... I actually go to the Airforce base for all my care, if I was to get referred off-base I'd be headed to the Naval Hospital (here in Norfolk it's huge so I'd much rather stay at the Airforce base). She also didn't say anything about my LP or anything. I showed her my chart so she knows I did in fact ovulate, but she said they don't do anything until it's been 90 days. I found that odd like why keep waiting when the test came back negative? IDK.

I'm so sorry the test was negative. But at least you have a plan now right?! It may not be what you wanted, but at least it's a plan and you can focus on that. Vent here all you want, sweetie! We are all here to listen!

Glad to hear your tests were normal. I hate that you have to wait another three weeks before she'll prescribe the Provera. My doctor had me chart my periods for three months to show I really didn't start without Prometrium (similar to Provera) and before he prescribed my Clomid.

Long cycles suck.

Not getting answers can be just as frustrating as finding out you have something wrong. Hopefully the hsg goes well. I agree with Cathy, long cycles do suck. I'm not looking forward to my never ending cycles after clomid.

Again....I would like say that it sucks how poor military healthcare is sometimes! GRRR!!

I'm glad that there is a plan in action. I agree that a 90 day cycle is way abnormal. My midwife was concerned that I was having 40 day cycles. Granted its good that you're ovulating, but a long cycle isn't right either.

I hope the HSG and the SA help make a clear picture of things so you can get your BFP soon!!

Actually that sounds like an awesome appointment April! I am surprised though that she is making you wait another 3 weeks before the Provera. I was told by my RE that when you start TTC you need to have a period every 30-40 days max. But maybe the RE you get referred to will help you with that. I am also scheduled for an HSG this cycle so I will let you know how that goes.

Like I said the one thing that I find weird is that she is making you wait for the Provera. But I am sure you will get it figured out! Sounds like you have a good plan set and are on your path to that much deserved BFP!!!!
