and it finally worked! Got a yesterday afternoon, and confirmed it with a digi this morning. EDD May 1st! I have told noone since I found out yesterday afternoon...just trying to think of a way to be creative with DH tonight when he gets home.
I had a feeling I might be in for a positive- made some changes this month that gave me much more optimistic outlook.

CONGRATS! You must be ecstatic right now! It does get extremely frustrating each month to try and get nothing! Each month I think it will be the one... and nope. Can I ask what you tried differently this month (if it isn't too personal)??
It is funny that when I find out someone on this board is pregnant, I am happy for them, yet when it is someone I actually know, it makes me upset..... I wonder if it is because we know how hard it has been... it seems like the people that I know at work/home get pregnant without even trying!!!
good luck with sharing the exciting news with your DH!

Yes- Quite excited, but more nervous than anything. I had a miscarriage at 16DPO a few months ago, and I'm TERRIFIED it's going to happen again. I guess that's why I haven't even told DH yet.
What I did differently, to answer you questions, was to make some lifestyle changes. I am usually running to train for something, mainly 15K's or half marathons, but I scaled back on my long runs this month since it is dangerously hot outside right now in Florida, and if I did run long, I would do it in the gym. I think the big help in the CM department was cutting out all caffiene. I have had little to no EWCM for the past few months, and at the beginning of this cycle I gave up my Diet Coke habit and I saw 4 days of EWCM, where it was literally pouring out as if an egg had been cracked inside me (sorry if TMI) and that's the first time that's happened since the miscarriage (also about the same time I got addicted to the caffine at lunch time). It was also the first month since my miscarraige I had a very strongly positive opk.
I used pre-seed and drank a mug of hot green tea every night instead of milk. Upped the protein, fruits, and veggies, cut out all fried food, and drank about twice as much water as normal, especially around O time. I have no way of knowing, of course, which of those exactly led to the crazy amounts of EWCM, but I do know that every month when I've had tons like that, I've gotten pregnant. (Once with DS, once miscarried, and now this time, which I pray is successful)
Speaking of praying, lots more of that lately too- just asking God to put in my heart what I needed to do or what sacrifices I needed to make to receive another child. Ultimately, the reason was this, I believe.
So for now, the nerves are really taking over the excitement, but maybe after I get past 16DPO I'll feel better. I hope!
I'm pretty sad to have be leaving this board soon. That may sound wierd (because of course I'm glad we've finally gotten pregnant), but I feel like I really know several of you and will miss the daily banter. Also- I have no where to go. The May DDC isn't even up yet!

It will probably be up by the end of the week. Good Luck - I hope this is a sticky bean for you.

OMG!!!! I'm like... jumping up and down girl!! Iam so happy for you!!! if I O early maybe I can join you in the MayDDC! If I O when I usually do I'll be due June 1st, so it's totally possible!!!
Sending you tons of sticky dust!!!
also- you may want to not run too much- all that hard activity could knock the baby out of place before the placenta has formed as a good strong anchor.

Nope- haven't told him yet.
He was gone before we got up this morning and hasn't been home since- he has long flights for his job. Expecting him for dinner though- in a few hours. I still don't really have a plan. Any ideas?

Thanks Girls! It really means so much to me to have everyone's congratulations. If it weren't for this group I'd probably be running thru the streets to announce it just to be able to share the news with someone. As it is now, I'd like to keep it to just DH and I for at least a couple of months, based on my experience with my miscarraige. It was tough last time to make phone calls to people who knew and let them know we lost the baby- don't want to have to do that again.
That being said, my FRERs have gotten gradually darker over the last few days, and I plan on taking them every morning for a few more, at least until 16DPO, just to make sure they get nice and dark. That would be a good sign that it's not a chemical pregnancy, don't you think? i'm kind of a bundle of nerves to get over these inital weeks.
Becky: DH took it great. He has such a high tolerance for surprises being dropped in his lap, which I suppose is a great trait for anyone in the military these days. I made up a little gift for him with a digital in it, as well as a chinese fortune cookie insert that we got about a week ago that said "This year, your family will be your highest priority", which I hung onto just in case this was indeed the month. He just had a silly grin on his face and gave me a big hug- then asked me if it was going to be a girl or boy (he's heard me talk about possibly being able to determine the sex based on when sex took place in relation to O, and my DS holds true to that theory. For this chart, we DTD almost every day during the fertile period so who knows?)
Thanks, again, for all the well wishes. Any thoughts and prayers continued progress are welcomed!
I continue to read on this board, mostly lurking right now though. The good news for me is that almost everyone here has a chance still to join me in the MAY DDC!
