I know that we all say that we won't be like our parents, but let's admit it...we sooooo are. What did you always think you would NEVER say or do to your kids that you do now or think that you will? What was/will be that "*gasp* I've turned into my mother/father!" moment? I'm sure that mine will have something to do with safety or sparing feelings. My parents outright lied about Santa when they knew that I knew because they wanted us to have more years of fun. My mom was fond of, "Because I said so!" I never thought that this would be a phrase in my vocabulary, but I've used it on DH already after I've explained and explained and explained and he still doesn't get it. I'll finally say, "Isn't it enough for you that I asked?" I've also learned with DH that rhetorical questions apparently DO have answers, so a closed-ended "Because I said so" just might creep in occasionally.
Oh, don't worry. I already hate myself for it.
