I have been collecting the names of fertility docs in my area, but really have not felt good about it. The names I have are of docs that have done great things for friends, but I still couldn't imagine going through a ton of fertility treatments myself. I don't like taking prescription meds and I'm really careful about the foods I eat and the products I use. Everyone has to decide for herself, but I feel like I'd be poisoning myself to have a child. I have decided I won't be calling any of them. Instead, I will be going the route of eastern medicine. I've been doing a ton of research and feel like that's the way for me. Especially since the only thing the docs can find wrong with me is a little hormone imbalance. I'm convince that after 3-6 months of acupuncture, herbs and certain foods, I will be pregnant. I found what I hope will be the right acupuncturist for me. I haven't talked to her yet, but I looked at her website. I also found on another site that she's trained under the woman who wrote The Infertility Cure. I was so excited when I read that. I'm invigorated by this because I feel like I finally have a way to fix this instead of relying on meds or luck.
Of course, none of that will happen if I end up getting prego this cycle. I don't anticipate that though since no other round of clomid worked and I think my uterine lining is too thin.

Good Luck if this isn't your month. You have to do what you feel is right. I hope it works for you.
ETA: Can I ask you if your insurance covers this? I might look into it to see if my insurance would cover it. I probably can't afford it if my insurance won't cover it.

Well I hope you don't have to go any further with TTC, but if you do, it sounds like you have a really good plan that you're going to try and it seems like you are very optimistic about trying it! I think that can only help you! I'll be pulling for you and I'd love to hear about the things you're trying!
Good luck hon! My acupuncturist actually took over the practice from the woman who wrote the Infertility Cure (so I assume she was trained by her as well). I don't know that the acpuncture is 100% of the reason it worked for me, but it helped for sure. I went for 2 months and will continue to go to help sustain the pg.
From what I've read, acupuncture can help especially with unexplained fertility problems.
No, my insurance won't pay for this. It won't pay for any other fertility treatments either. Money isn't a deciding factor for us though because we've had plenty of family members offer us money if we need it. We're extremely lucky because we both come from very functional families and there would be no issues later on if we borrowed money from them.

Good luck with your decision. It is a difficult road no matter what option you chose. I have seen an acupuncturist for the past 2 years for a variety of problems. She is awesome and seems to listen better than "traditional" doctors. I have seen a definite improvement in my health since I started ac. I hope that it works for your infertility as well!
