Hi all! DH and I were ttc for 4 years when we finally (by the Grace of God) became pg with our first son Brayden. HE is now 6 months old. I went through EVERY test for infertility with one of the best dr's in the world! He said IVF was my only option for a biological child as my one and only ovary is covered with scarring. He said in 25 years he has never seen a girl get pg with anovary like mine. That was July 2004, Nov 2004 I found out I had gotten pg on my own the old fashioned way Anyway....I breastfeed so I've not had a cycle until this month. I know technically we can get pg. But I was wondering----Do any of you have children now? IF so were you considered to be infertile at the time you got pg with them. And how long did it take you try again or get pg again? I want more kids. I'd like a whole house full and with 4 bedrooms that could be a lot lol.....but I don't want to seem greedy (for lack of a better term) or un-thankful for my one little miracle and have the suggested IVF. I thought that we'd try again until I turned 27 or 28 (I'm 25 now) and then if we hadn't gotten pg go ahead and go for IVF. Thedr said my follicle were great and he was VERY surprised with the number of viable egg follicles I had with only one ovary. He said we'd probably be able to extract upwards of 20 or so, and at least 8 would probably fertilize and divide. So my questions are When did ya start trying again, and if you succeeded how long did it take?

Again, I don't want to sound like I'm not thankful for my little baby boy----but I just want to give him a brother or sister-----or 2.

WOW! That's quite the little miracle you have, isn't it?

I don't have kids, but I HAVE gotten pregnant, in spite of being told by a few docs starting at age 15 that I wouldn't be able to have kids, not even get pregnant. Imagine my shock when I DID! I'd used BC for other things, and also just in case. My problem seems to be that I can't carry to term. I got pregnant accidentally when I was 26, but there were problems with that and it ended at 21 + weeks. DH and I started trying actively right after that...it's been a little over 2 years. We've had at least 2 miscarriages and 1 chem pregnancy, but we suspect more of each. The docs won't do any testing until at least one more confirmed m/c. It's all sorts of stuff and it may be nearly impossible to correct without seriously overhauling and/or damaging my body...doesn't mean I don't think about it!

I don't think that we think you're ungrateful for your little one! Even for those of us who seem to be taking forever and would be ever-so-grateful for one, most of us want more!

Congratulations!

Some in my family think I'm being selfish for wanting more. But I've always wanted a big family. Chemcially and "physically" there's nothing wrong at all. It just that my ovary is covered with scarring and the eggs can not escape. My follicles actually grow so large they bleed into my ovary in an attempt to release the egg.

I have three daughters (the oldest and youngest are biologically mine) and have had two miscarriages - one at 8 weeks and one at 14 weeks. I never had problems concieving until now - we have been TTC #4 for three years.

Hopefully things go the opposite way for you and you concieve easily this time!

Good Luck!
