If they are able to afford 18 kids and give them the best life possible this is ok. That is their choice that they make and want to have these kids. As long as the kids are happy, well cared for and have a great life, then I am ok with this.

LOL Toni! Good point! I don't think I have any right to say how many children someone should or shouldn't have. I certainly wouldn't want anyone telling me! I just don't know how the kids get any one on one time with their parents! Imagine that!

First off - I am of the mindset that it is there own business. Personally I think it is C-R-A-Z-Y! I want a large family by today's standards, but 18 is just WAY too many (for me at least). I have watched all of their cable specials (it is hard not to) and I seriously think they get state or church help cause she is a SAHM/home schooler and her DH isn't a state rep or whatever anymore. They just built a huge house - their master bedroom has a dedicated nursery nook

Oh, and they do the buddy system. When Mom has a new baby, the next older kiddo in line gets the youngest to be their "buddy" so they help them get dressed, brush their teeth, etc.

some days when my house with 3 children gets chaotic, i think, what is a household with 18 like?

i agree, to each his own, but i think about those children who will probably never really TRUELY know their parents. not like i knew my mother anyway. i think big families are nice, but i'm not sure why they think 18 children is desireable. are they getting more enjoyment out of each child? i'm not sure how that is possible, no time - but i don't know.

AND yes, it must be nice to be fertile!!!!

I think it's wonderful. I want a large family- but only about 1/3 of theirs!

that mama needs to send us some fertile dust!
