Yesterday I had an HSG, which is a procedure where he flushed dye thru the fallopian tubes to see if there is any blockage. He gave me a Percocet and valium and told me to take 2 ibuprofen before the procedure. I am so glad I did! It hurt like heck! I was almost up off the table when he shot the dye into my cervix- and my pain tolerance is pretty high. Thank God Kenny was there to hold my hand. After the procedure, he showed us the x-rays that were taken and explained to us that the dye did not flow thru the fallopian tubes like it should if everything was clear. I was sort of in a drug/pain-induced fog when he was explaining everything, but from what we gather, he seems to think there is something going on with at least one of my tubes. He showed us a small area where the dye should have been flowing out, but it wasn’t. So he thinks I may have some scarring/lesions from infection or my D&C, or that I may have endometriosis. He wants us to come in next week and see him again to discuss our options, but he told us yesterday the next step is to put me out and go in and do a laparoscopic procedure to see what is blocking my tube(s) and try to clear it out. Right now I don’t know how I feel. I am glad in a way that we found what is likely the problem, but sad in a way too that there is something wrong. Of course, we are not giving up on conceiving on our own. We are still trying. He said with the HSG there is a 25% chance of false positive/negative. I am also praying that insurance will pay for the lap procedure, b/c it hasn’t paid for anything else so far.
So YEA! to knowing it’s not all in my head… J Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that this can be resolved soon and Mason can finally get his little sister/brother he’s been asking for!

I know it stinks to find out something is actually wrong, but at least you know what the problem is! I would definitely do the lap... it will give them more information (I'm not sure if they can do the correction right there and then). Hopefully it will be just a quick fix! Don't forget, you still have one healthy tube.... and women can still get PG with one tube!!! Let us know how you make out!!!

Can you do a repete HSG before the surgery? 25% is a huge chance of being wrong, I'd be worried to get an unnecessary surgery.

OH I'm so sorry you got some not so good news!!! That really does suck and I can't imagine how you are feeling, but like the others have said at least you do know now and it's fixable so that's always good. You sound like you have a really good attitude about it and that can only help. If you ever need to vent we are here for you. And please pm me any time you want! I'm sorry girl...wish I could give you a hug!

Amber. I knew you said in your PM that you didn't get great news, but I just now read this.
I am sorry they found something, but hopefully that will be an *easy fix* and then you can quickly get your sticky BFP!
I'm thinking about you!

I just had the lap done in Aug. I needed a few days off because my tummy muscles were sore. I took advil. The reason insurance paid for mine was because of the possibility of Endo. I had the HSG first too. My doctor found 2 adhesions and lasered those off but she said everything is ok. Which doesn't mean I don't have Endo. Still I have unexplained Infertility. You doctor needs to code your LAP as looking for endo(tell him about that pain that you are having during AF) They have put me back on clomid and starting injectables and IUI this cycle. Good Luch with everything and KUP!
