Hi!
I've also posted in the TTC. I've been TTC for over 7 months. I could really use some advise. I have Fertilaid and that lube thats good for spermies coming in the mail any day now.. I also have the ovulation tester I've been using.. Long story short - I have only had 2 periods in the last 7 months or so because of the BC Shot I've been off of that for over 7 months, but when I was on it, I didn't have a period at all.
I am considering trying Clomid but I need some advice.. Like If I need to get it through a doctor - since I see it all over the internet - what the side effects are.. I am considering going to the doctors to get advise from them as well, but they always hurt me with the speculum! (I Know, TMI)
I'm getting so sad, I'm starting to think I'm infertile, like I can't have children..

Thanks for listening, ladies!!

You had the depo shot right?. It's VERY normal to not get a normal period for up to/over a year after your last shot. My friend got no period at all for 10 months after her last shot. It sucks, but that shot REALLY screws your hormones and such up.

Good luck to you. I agree with April about the shot...

As for Clomid, you have to go through a doctor for it, and in most cases, they won't give it to you unless you've been actively trying for a year or there's another medical reason that it's needed sooner. I'm no doctor, so I can't say for sure, but I would think that with the BC shot, they may not consider that "trying" for that long, kwim?

Don't get yourself too down.. it'll take a while for your body to adjust after the shot...

ya- depo, and any birth control really messes up your body- it can take a LONG time for your hormone levels to recover, which is really scary, and something I wish DRs told before giving out BC.

Hopefully you can get your cycles back to normal. Some things that can help this are the herbs vitex and red raspberry leaf, talk to a natural doctor or do research before self medicating with herbs tho.

Raw food cleanses or juice fasts can also help your body process all those forign hormones faster too. Accupuncture can also help, a lot.

Hope that helps!

I just wanted to say welcome and that I agree with the other girls. It can take a while before your hormones regulate out after the shot. I would also definitely talk to your Dr about the Clomid. Have you had a pre-conception Appointment with your Dr? I would recommend that. The Dr will help you get on the right track!!! Try not to worry as it can take a healthy normal couple up to a year to get pregnant! Hang in there!
