so i have my ears pierced twice on both sides and i've always had problems with my second hole on my left side getting infected. every now and then it will get infected and i make it better and go on. also if i dont have ear rings in the second hole on the left side for more than a couple days it will close up and i have to push the ear ring through the back piece of skin. not too fun. so last night i didnt have ear rings in and i was feeling them because they felt like they were getting infected and right inbetween the two holes there is like something hard. it is like there is a little tiny ball in my ear under the skin and it wont move. my ear feels really hot too. never happened before that i know of. it wont move. but it hurts when i mess with it. any ideas???

Since its hot it may be infected. I would give it a few more days to see how its going to act before putting a new earring in. I had the same problem untill i figured out I couldnt wear fake ear rings. Not even silver. HAS to be gold. maybe the same thing is going on for you???? The funny thing is, I can wear any kind in my nose and the tops of my ears! Go figure.

What kind of ear rings are you wearing. I have to wear real ear rings or mine hurt like that also. They do not close up but they will get real sore and I have to take then out for a few days. Alot of times K mart will put theirs on sale for 70% off and you can get a real pair for about $10.00 That is what I usually do.

I can wear anything in my Bottom hole but not my top one. I have 2 in one ear and 3 in the other and both top ones have to have real ones. My sister and I got the 3rd hole together so we always have matching ones in.

OHHHH I had this happen once! It was the MOST painful thing and one day I was messing with it and out popped this really funky core out of my earring hole.

YUCK!

Didnt hurt anymore after that though!

OUCH! I've had that happen!!! I'm allergic to gold, so it's the one I CAN'T wear, not in either ear, not on my fingers, in the face, neck, nowhere. That said, I discovered that one of the holes on one ear just WOULD NOT stay clean. I had a whole routine and cleaned it every day VERY well. I had that core, too, which eventually caused to hole to SWELL OVER an earring in just an hour or so. I took the earring out, kept the whole clean, and let it close. I got it repierced when I could tell it wasn't infected any longer and I've had no trouble since!

I'm sorry! It's sooooo painful!!!

My first thought was maybe it was a buildup of scar tissue from all the times it started to close and then you reopened it with the back of your ring, but the heat definitely suggests an infection. My second holes have been infected since practically day one. I haven't been able to wear earings in them for years - of any kind - and yet they haven't closed up. Periodically they get infected just for the heck of it. Not fun. If I had known how much trouble they would be, I never would have gotten them double-pierced.

Just keep swabbing rubbing alcohol or peroxide on the hole to try to get the infection down.
