I hope it's ok if I pop in- I get it done too.

It has documented success rates especially when paired with IVF. It's mostly painless, it is expensive usually- but there are community accupuncture networks- tyhe webseite is community accupuncturenetwork.com I think. They're group treatments- and much better priced. I pay 20$ for mine.

if there anything specific you want to know?

I loved it and the woman who's doing it. She was very thorough with the questions she asked me and the information she offered up front. I barely had anything to ask her. I forgot to ask her success rate. I felt horrible yesterday and was not in a talkative mood. I'm pretty sure I had a fever. She diagnosed me exactly how I self diagnosed from the book The Infertility Cure. I was glad to know I wasn't way off. She's trained under Dr. Randine Lewis who wrote that book. I think I read that 32 or 36 people across the country are training under her, so I feel very lucky she's in my area and that I found her. She gave me an awesome sheet of the foods I should eat and what I should avoid. Two of the main things I should avoid are wheat and cow dairy. My little bro lived with us for almost 2 years and just recently moved out. He can't eat dairy or wheat either, so I'm already used to cooking without them. I just have to cut out yogurt and wheat bread and I'm pretty much there. I also have to add more meat into my diet. I'm not a vegetarian but eat a lot more beans and whole grains than meat. I still get to eat beans and grains too though. I'm not supposed to eat or drink anything cold (i.e. ice cream, iced water, popsicles). I'm also not supposed to drink anything 30 minutes before or after a meal so I don't kill the "digestive fires." My temps are always really low, so she's trying to bump them up a bit.

The acupuncture itself was so relaxing. I did have a hard time sitting there by myself for 25 minutes after she put the needles in, but just because laying down in the middle of the day is so foreign to me. She put one kind of between my eyes, one on the inside of my arm above my wrist. 4 or 5 on my abdomen and a bunch on my feet and around my knees. It didn't hurt at all. I didn't expect it to though. I'm not afraid of needles and these were so tiny.

Since this was my first appointment, I was there for 2 hours. I go back again next Monday. I have to go out and get some things she wanted me to take (grape seed extract & omega 3 fish oil). I didn't want to buy them at her office because I figured they'd be more expensive and I have two health food stores within a few miles of my house that carry a wide selection of each. The appointment was a lot, but she gave me a 20% discount because of the insurance I have. My insurance doesn't cover the sessions, but she has some other agreement or something with them. In my sick haze I wasn't able to completely understand what she was saying, all I heard was discount.

I go back next Monday. She wants to see me once a week for now, but not during the 2nd week of my 2ww. My other appointments will be about 1/2 the cost since I won't be there as long.

Thanks Cheryl, I pretty much just wanted to know how her first session went!

I really wanted to get this done, but we haven't had the money for it and insurance doesn't cover it.

Cel... that sounds great! It sounds like she did a great job. How did you feel after it? I hope this works for you!!!

I feel ok, but since I'm still really sick I can't tell for sure if it made me feel any different. I'll be able to make a better call on that after my next session.
