Hi! I'm new to this group - I've been around AIP and TTC group for a while but now decided to come into this group considering the fact that I'm going onto my 8th cycle of trying. It's been a long, frustrating TTC journey and I'm hoping it'll be done soon!
For those of you who has gotten medical assistance to try to conceive - did you always have to go to an RE, or can an Ob-Gyn or a Family Dr give some fertility medications to help try to conceive? Any Advice?? We're not on any insurance so I'm not about to go to an appointment where I have to spend hundreds of dollars when I could have my insurance pay for it. We've just enrolled into an insurance program but it will not go into effect until January of 09 (blah).
 to all!

We have also been trying 8 months. Well, this is our 9th month...sort of. We didn't really try last month so technically this would still be month 8. We are TTC #1.
My Obgyn is going to prescribe me with clomid if it turns out I need it. So the answer to your question it yes. Hope your stay is short and sweet but it will be great getting to know you!

Thank you all for your responses! It's helpful and nice to know that there are other women out there that are going through something that I'm going through. I never thought I'd be going thru this difficult journey of TTC after conceiving my daughter so quickly (a surprise pregnancy) after being off the BC for 2 months I conceived her in my 3rd month off of BC. DH is 24, I'm 24 going on 25 in December -- After trying for 6 months - it's like I'm slowly giving up but still I'm hoping on to this tiny bit of hope that maybe we'll be successful naturally. I look forward to sharing my journey with you all as well as watching your journey through your TTC time!

Welcome. I'm Amanda (27) and Dh is Michael (25). We are on cycle #10. We are receiving progesterone from our OB/GYN right now while we are waiting for the 1 year mark to be referred to a RE. My OB/GYN is going to do a laproscopy on me in December if we are not pregnant by then. I think it just depends on the Dr. I would ask some other women around and find one that will help you.

Welcome to our group. I'm Cel (30). DH (31) and I have been ttc for 19 months now. My OB/GYN prescribed clomid for me. I quit taking it after four months and went to an RE. I'm on my first cycle with an RE right now. I hope you don't have to wait much longer.

Hi! How did your dr know when to put you on progesterone?? Did they look at your charts and see that something was wrong and gave you progesterone??

Did your OB-Gyn do a bunch of tests on you while you were taking clomid??

HI Krystal,
i'm Lynda. I'm a co-host of this board and wanted to give you a belated i'm sorry it's so late, but i had problems with my user account since the hacking, and have just gotten back to normal here.
so to our family!!! glad to have you but hope you leave us soon (with a bfp)!!!! my DH and i don't have fertility covered under our insurance so we really can't afford an RE. So yes, your obgyn can help with some fertility meds. i'm on my second round of clomid. my first round of clomid was successful, and i got my bfp, but sadly it ended in m/c. so i'm back now 1st cycle after my m/c but 9th cycle of ttc. hoping the clomid will work again.
good luck to you!!!! looking forward to getting to know you better!
