Well, I went to see the doc on Thursday since we just started cycle/month #9. The doctor, back in December, said to give it 6 months, but since DH was sick for a couple of them I kinda took those into consideration (now I wish I hadn't). Anyways, I took my charts (all 5 months) in and he was very impressed with them. He said I've got a great biphasic pattern and it looks like I'm Oing. But, due to my age (41) and that I don't seem to get any EWCM he wants to kick this thing in gear and do Clomid and IUI this cycle. Huh?? I was like don't you want to test my FSH levels again or maybe see if I'm actually Oing or have an LP problem? He said, nope, we're running out of time, let's get you pg. Talk about being in shock and overwhelmed!! I timed the appointment in case he wanted to run FSH tests again (cd3) but it turned out that it was a good day to start the Clomid. DH and I didn't get a chance to talk about this that evening, so we did on Friday and came to the decision Saturday to just try the Clomid this cycle and not do the IUI. So, I'm hoping we can get pg this cycle with just the Clomid and not have to go thru the IUI....not because of the cost (it'd be anywhere between $450 and $1150 depending on how many folliscans we'd have to do) but because we'd rather do it as "naturally" as possible. I was leaning towards doing the IUI, but he wasn't, so that's the decision we came up with. I think part of it has to do with the increased risk of multiples not only with the Clomid but with the IUI as well. The doctor was very serious when he said he really really didn't want us to have multiples and I think the risk scared DH a little bit. I'd love to do the best shot possible as quickly as possible, but instead we're opting for the "supereggie" theory with the Clomid this time. Anyhoo, that's where we are after our doctor's visit last week. I'm on my last Clomid today and haven't had any side effects (only 50mg). Is that good or bad?

Wow! Talk about your fast forward in the process Jessica! It seems like everything was kind of thrown at you! I hope that the Supereggie theory will be just the thing to get your BFP. I also hope that the Clomid doesn't give you too many side effects! Keep us posted on how things are going!

I'm so glad your doctor is being so proactive though- that's awesome!! I hope Clomid does the trick for you!!! (and me )
I have side effects, but I seem to have side effects with everything! You might notice more O pains (bigger & better eggie ) and some bloating around O time. I hope the side effects stay away from you & I wish you the best of luck this cycle!!

I don't think the side effects matter much. I read in a few places that women who get hot flashes are less likely to get prego w/ clomid since that's a sign that it won't correct what's wrong. I don't know if that's true or not. I took 50 mg for 4 months and had virtually no side effects. That was prescribed by my OB/GYN. I'm now taking 100 mg and doing a trigger and IUI. My CM sucked on clomid, so the RE is trying to bipass that as much as possible. I hoepe the 50 mg works for you.

Sounds good. My doc did the same thing, not for the same reasons though - mine could just tell I was really frustrated with my spotting and not getting pregnant. I went in on cycle 8 though.
I hope the clomid helps and that is all you need.

Good luck to you- will you do the IUI next month if this doesn't work? I hope you can do this as much naturally as possible.

Thanks, girls!!* We're hoping it'll work this month and we won't have to worry about doing an IUI.* But, I think we will next month if this one isn't the one.* I still don't have any side effects, but that stuff about the hot flashes is very interesting Cel.* That's kinda what I was wondering.* I told DH that I may have some mood swings and he was like, I doubt it, you've never had them before.* I don't PMS, so that may be why I'm not moody with the Clomid.* I haven't really noticed anything different, except today I noticed some CM when wiping and that is VERY STRANGE for me, so hopefully that's a good sign that this stuff is working.* Thanks again, girls!!

thats awesome! well to me it is. I'd much rather have a doctor moving things along rather than taking their time. I really hope that the clomid does the trick for you!!

I'm glad your doctor is speeding things up for you! I'm getting ready to post a follow up from my doctor appointment as well. Good luck with the Clomid! I'm hoping to get it for my next cycle depending on my test results.
GOOD LUCK!!!
