Do you ever get annoyed at people who just started trying (or have only been for a few months) going out and seeking INFERTILITY help?

I'm fine with couples who know they have a problem. Hell we started getting help early because we knew about my husbands SA. But to just go out and seek meds and help because you're impatient really bothers me.

Am I weird?

Nope you are not weird. That bugs me too. I mean, if you *know* you have a problem, that is one thing. I know a woman that has been bugging my husband about our RE and IVF and she's only been trying for a few months. I mean seriously? Give your body a chance.

Um yah kinda.

But then again since I have already had kids people assume that I get preggo easy and don't need help. But that hasn't been the case you know.

"well you have to be trying for a year before we will consider medical assistance..." makes me so mad!! okay deep breath... i'm better now!!!

I got that too Lynda when I went in for my yearly exam and we had been trying for 3-4 months at that point. When I went back 4 months later because of my spotting that kept increasing he gave me the clomid. That all being said - I have secondary infertility (my doctor didn't order tests - he just gave me the clomid script and hoped it would help my progesterone/spotting) - I got pregnant with AJ when we were NT/NP.

yep- it totally annoys me.

I also was upset when doctors told me that since we'd only been ttc 4 months that I didn't need help- even though I had had 3 miscarriages!!!! I was told to come back in 8 months! How many more miscarriages did they want me to have to suffer through?

I agree, April. There's those of us that try for a long time (some longer than others) and finally get some help, and others can go right in and get a script (or think they are entitled to it) right away.

It is funny that you say that because I just noticed that on FF. I just started using it, but when I was looking at charts I saw where it would say, "TTC 1 month/ Metformin/ Clomid". Maybe it was only their first month charting, but if not, WTH??

I get really annoyed at that too. I agree that if you have a known issue, that's fine- get the help you need when you need it. However, when people have only been trying for a few months and everything seems normal and they still insist on getting help- that really makes me angry! And the fact that they get the help too bugs the living daylights out of me! All because they are impatient!

You are so not alone with your frustrations April... I have also been thinking of veering away from TTC#1 too... It's almost as if I've outgrown it!

I am bothered by pple seeking and getting help after just a few cycles as well and I know some pple feel like that about me

I am judeged because I have had 8 kids but my 2nd pg was a m/c and my 4th child only took...5 long long yrs to ttc then I was ok fertility wise.

Then it i happened again after a year I ended at the dr with confirmed Onnov issues and we did the clomid. After 5 cycle it worked and I was fine again except the last 4 m./c and last 2 at 17w all unexplained after perfect medical tests.

So now I sit in that wonderful grey area of unexplained infert..again. But I am hopeful

i'm sorry April. I understand what you mean. It seems unfair that they can go right in without even really trying first and others have to wait. As much as I wish I could go ahead and go to a dr about it (since I think this is the 8th month for me) i'm not going until next year just to make sure it's not just timing. I wish unless they fully know something is wrong, that dr.'s will stay firm with everyone about waiting.

I get annoyed too. I periodically take a break from TTC#1 because of things like that. It drives me nuts when someone who's just went off BC is obsessing over the fact that AF has not regulated yet. It's normal to take a few months to regulate. You probably don't need to seek help if you aren't pregnant the first cycle or two going off BC.

I called my doc about help before I was at the year point. I knew from my charts that I had some issues though.

I already have a daughter and have been almost trying for 10 months but have no intention of going to the DR for quite sometime. I think it is really how people are these days. OMG I sound like my mother.lol. Everyone wants the best of everything and they want it straight away.

I lurk here, but we are on cycle 7, about to start cycle 8. I think its interesting that the ladies that you can tell need help usually wait, while the ladies that dont really "need" help seek it out much faster. I"m also not sure where they are finding these doc's to put them on meds because my doc wont even do PROGESTERONE until 3 miscarriages, even if you have low progesterone

I tested at a level 10.2 on my 10dpo blood check last month. Its "ok" but its not really that high. I have short LP's although in some months its under the acceptable level. I cant get her to put me on meds that I think I need to maintain pregnancy- whereas others are seeking stuff like Femara and Clomid to help them ovulate. Progesterone to me is pretty typical and not a "med" KWIM?

Laur THAT is total crap. You'd have to lose TWICE more before Progest?
