ok so i am a test-a-phobic - i have a fear of hpts!!!! the first step is admitting it (whew)... well here is how i look at it. if i test and i get a bfn, then i'm bummed and then i wait for AF, which sucks, and i'm bummed again. if i wait, and AF shows, then i'm only bummed once and i don't have to then "wait" for AF to come.
well i have always been curious if a bfp would register at 10dpo and i'm 10dpo today. SO, i got up this morning, broke out a FRER (cause they don't get evaps) and i tested, with the test window facing away from me. I counted for 15 seconds in the pee and then i put the little plastic cap over the dip area and i put it high on a shelf where i couldn't see it. there it sits!!!! so in four more days when i get my bfp (positive thinking hey?) i can look back and see if it registered on the FRER at 10 dpo.
NOW HOW NUTS IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and please don't anyone try to convince me to go look at it, cause i won't... i can't.... it's against my policy of being a test-a-phobic.
okay, i have admitted in insanity and now i'm going to eat!!!!! ahahahahah please pray the test sitting on the top of the shelf is a bfp!!!! although we won't know till monday or AF's arrival. but she's not coming!!!

Awww, that totally sounds like something I would do... It's ok to be afraid of those HPTs! They can crush your positive attitude in an instant. I hope that the test sitting there waiting for you has a nice dark 2nd line waiting for you when you're ready to check it out!
I am, for the record, a self-proclaimed POAS-Pansy. I hate it. I'd rather have AF show (for the same reasons you mentioned above- the number of disappoinments), so please know that you are not alone!!! We should have a club with a blinkie!!! LOL

Awwww, I so so hope that test up there has a second line!!
I completely understand your fear of the HPTs. I was like that (yes past tense), but have now recently admitted that I'm addicted to POAS!! I have so many FRERs waiting for me for the coming months (hopefully just to take while I'm preggo )
Good luck- I hope this cycle is it for you!!

You are stronger than me - I would be looking at it, judging it in different lights and angles. LOL
I am pretty good about waiting to test till 12dpo (or in the past AF would be here by then). The last few cycles I didn't use a test at all - waited for AF but that was cause I was sure she was on her way. This month I am more hopeful and may be breaking out my tests. I have some expired ones I could waste.

Oooh - good to know. Now they are the FRRR (First Response Rapid Results) - I got them for free at the HBCE last March.

Oh Jenn, you know i love you... but i won't look!! no way, no how!!!! it's sitting quite comfortably on the top shelf. no one but me and all of you know it's there!!!!! maybe if it burns a hole through the shelf and falls to the floor, i'll look, but other than that, until monday...!!!
i'm sorry, i really am!!! see what i love about this place is that most women cave and test and they don't keep me in suspense. my intentions are not to keep anyone in suspense. it's just that clearly i am a test-a-phobiac!!
Hi my name is Lynda, and I'm horribly scared of hpts!!!!
