Quick question for those of you that have gotten a bfp and check their cp. I am on 8dpo today and hoping i am pregnant. However, my cp is medium, and feels mostly closed, but not "tight" like I would expect it to if I was pregnant...It's not open like during O, but there is a lot of cm at the enterance. If I were pregnant wouldn't the opening be tightly closed right now, or is it okay if it's just a little soft? What did you all experience at this point in your cycle if you got a bfp? Just curious. Thanks!

My CP didn't really do anything special regarding pg with any of my 3 pg's until later on. But that's normal...the "pregnant" cervical changes don't usually happen until later on, like around 10 weeks. So until then it's not uncommon for the cervix to continue moving up and down and get slowly softer over time.

CP is not a good indicator, as it will be different for everybody, and even different for each pregnancy in the same woman. Sorry, I know that probably wasn't the answer you wanted to hear. How many dpo are you?

Thanks for your replys! I had heard that the position of the cervix could vary if you were pregnant, but i wasn't sure if it should be really tightly closed right now if i was pregnant or not. it's closed, just not "tight". I'm 9dpo today...may test tomorrow or hold off till this weekend, haven't decided. That would require me getting out of the house today to go pick up a test and I woke up sick. =o( my whole body is achy and crampy and I keep going back and forth from being increadibly cold and not being able to get warm, to my pjs being drenched in sweat...i'm also all stuffy and have a headache. =o( no fun! i hope i'm not getting the flu! the only weird thing....see, i'm NOT a breakfast person, never have been, so i either eat no breakfast or very little...i'm just never hungry in the morninigs. but this morning I woke up at 5am NEEDING a bowl of cereal....i knew dh was going to get up around 6:30, so I tried to fall back asleep until then, but at 6:30 I litterally ran into the kitchen and ate not 1, but 2 bowls of cereal and drank some orange juice. i ate plenty of food last night....so i don't know why i was so hungry! maybe these are all pregnancy symptoms too? who knows. well, back to bed for a while longer...thanks again!

Sorry, when I said CP, I meant that included whether it was open or closed. That too, will be different for each pregnancy. I hope that your symptoms are pregnancy symptoms. How long is your LP normally? I know it's hard, but if you can wait a few days to test, I would...the chances of getting a BFP at 10 dpo are really low, even if you are pregnant. If you're ok with that, then go for it, I just can't stand seeing the BFN, so I wait until AF is at least a day late. Good luck, and let us know!

okay good, that makes me feel better then. my cycle lengths have been kinda all over the place since getting off the pill the end of June...anywhere from 28 days to 40. Since we started trying dh and I always assumed that I o'd around cd14 since my cycles used to be 28 days and I had read that most women o around cd14....but for christmas my mom got me a "baby making kit" (yes she's very ready to have a grandbaby lol) and it had an opk kit in it....i used one, just for the fun of it, cause i figured i had already o'd since i was on cd21, and tested for the next few days and actually got a strong positive reading on cd23! so i'm guess we've just been having our timing wrong....so i'm thinking my cycle will probably be around 37ish days this month if my leutal phase is 14 days. i've had quite a few pregnancy symptoms over the last few days....VERY tired, crampy since o, heartburn, nauseous, weird food cravings, and then being sick today...so i'm hoping we got it this month! i guess only time will tell. I think i will wait till saturday to test. i know that's still a bit early (11dpo), but i'm going to see my family an hour away next week and i'd love to be able to give them some good news =o) i'll probably get one of those boxes with 2 or 3 tests in it and test again a few days later too. which tests to you recommend? i heard equate is good....any others?

LOL That's a pretty subtle Christmas gift That whole ovulating on CD 14 with a 28 day cycle is just an average, and a lot of people don't actually O according to that. I would highly recommend that you read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". It has a ton of information about ttc, birth control and the female body in general - it's a book I would recommend to any woman, I learned a lot from it. It explains pretty much everything you'd ever want to know about your cycle, and teaches you how to read your body's signs so that you can tell when you ovulate, how long your LP is, if your progesterone levels are high enough to sustain a pregnancy, etc.
I always wait until AF is at least a day late before I test, so I prefer to use the Clear Blue digital test. I do keep a couple of regular clear blue tests around just in case I test early, but that hasn't happened yet. I have also heard good things about equate. Good luck!

haha yeah "subtle" is definitely NOT my family! lol I have heard a lot of good things about that book (TCOYF) also. Haven't read it yet, but I have learned a lot of the same things about checking cm, and stuff like that from just reading the baby boards and stuff online. My cycles have just finally started becoming more "normal" these past couple of month and the reason I even took one of the opks was because I was experiencing a lot of ewcm at the time, so I think I'm finally starting to figure my body out. Dh and I have been ttc for 7 months now, so this would be a MUCH welcomed new years present!! =o) I'll keep you updated on what I find out!
