Can I ask which program or website your using that is telling you about your fertile window? If it's one of those Ovulation calculators, I wouldn't consider them reliable at all. They are based on the fact that your Ovulation is 14 days after the start of your period. While that may be true for some people, it certainly isn't for everyone. Some people Ovulate late, some early... it really depends on your body. I would definitely start using the OPKs.

I get mine online Here They work really well for me. Other people get the Answer Brand at stores and swear by them. For me, I only got positives no matter where I was in my cycle (Just my experience though). The OPKs will be a great first step towards determining when you're about to O! I hope that info helps. Good luck and I hope you have great success!!!

I don't know much about other brands as I am cheap and always get Answers Brand...they are ok but very sensitive. The only way I knew I had a true + was that it was SUPER darker than the control line. Lots of luck!!

Oh no! I didn't mean to make you feel bad! I'm so sorry! I was just trying to share some info that I'd picked up along the way, and I don't think it came out in the manner that I had hoped. I'm really sorry! FF is a great website. I've never heard of Babycenter. The sites I was trying to caution you on were the ones where you just put in the date of CD1 and how long your average cycle length is (the Ovulation calculators). Those are the things I wouldn't consider reliable. Sorry if I was confusing!

I'm sure that you'll find the OPKs very helpful. I know I did when I was first learning my cycles! This is a site that I found really helpful when I was first using OPKs Peeonastick.com ... hopefully it will help you out too! Good luck and I hope the OPKs will help you get your BFP!!!

I used answer brand and Dollar Tree brand (I think it was Clear Choice or something along those lines) I never got a positive with the Dollar Tree OPK's but I did with the Answer. I used their 7 day pack and their 20 day pack.

I don't tend to have much luck with OPKs, I only had luck 1 time and that was with the target off brand ones.

Sorry im not much help.

I think we all have made some TTC blunders when we first start to really get into TTC! LOL... I wouldn't worry! I'm glad you like the website. I learned so much from it! I hope that you have great success with those OPKs! I bet you'll be seeing a positive in no time! Good luck!

I use the clearblue easy digital fertility monitor, but I've also used the generic CVS OPKs when I wanted to test twice a day (once in the AM, and once in the PM - 12 hours a part). The CVS OPKs were right on target - they generally turned positive within 12 hours of my CBEFM turning positive. So, IMHO, the CVS OPKs work as well as my $200 fertility monitor - you just don't get the fun of seeing a little "eggie" pop up every month The only thing is, when you use them the first month, you can't really tell what a positive looks like. I remember I got some strong second lines a few nights in a row and I kept asking DH "do you think is it?" "really, do you think this is positive?" (highly annoying, I'm sure). Once I finally got the positive I could tell the difference, but it was pretty subtle up until that point. Good luck!!

I use the Answer brand. Have been using that one since July. It seems to give me ++'s around the correct time. The problem is, is that I stop testing after 2 or 3 days of the positives. I plan to use all 20 test strips next month just in case I'm ovulating twice or something crazy. My periods have been off the last 2 months.

Answer brand here is $20. I've bought them from Walmart and CVS I think.
