I'm still on my 2ww wait as usual - well I'm down to 1 week wait now I guess (although my last 2 periods were extremely late).

Anyways, the bloodwork I just had done cost me over $600!!!!! They only tested 4 things! T4, Prolactin, and 2 other things I cant remember and dont want to get up to look. So now I am out of insurance money and I'll have to pay for the HSG test I'm supposed to do in a few weeks! GRRRR

I have to wait until after January now. Otherwise I have to pay 100% of anything I have done up to $2500 and its a little late in the year to be starting that! So crap. Now I have to wait longer. Lets pray I got pregnant this month and won't have to worry about it! I'm not very optimistic though. I know not all people "feel" pregnant, but I don't feel anything. A bunch of people I know knew within a week because their boobs started changing almost immediately, so they tested and sure enough. BAM. Just like that. Crazy.

So now I"m just venting Plus, I just got off Myspace and was looking at one of my friends who just had her baby this week. So cute. Makes me happy and sad all at the same time which I'm sure you all feel too since you are here!

Has anyone heard of anyone who had an HSG and they did have a blockage? That's what they test for right, a blockage? Lets pretend I dont have a blockage, DH's SA is fine, and my bloodwork is fine. What does that mean if I still cant get pregnant? I guess that is when you go to fertility meds? Just curious.
Thanks!

Hang in there!

I am in the same boat you are....11 dpo today...waiting to see if i get my BFP and I don't really feel anything either.

BUT I will tell you this---this is our 9th cycle TTC and practically every month I have had tons of *symptoms* and always BFN. AND--when I was PG with my DD (7 years ago! ) I know for sure I did NOT have the swollen bbs or nausea until AT LEAST a week after AF was due. The only sign I had in the beginning was a missed AF...then cramping like AF was going to start so I was constantly running to the potty to check... and THEN at about 5 weeks my bbs got big, and it really probably wasn't until 6 weeks that nausea set in.

I really think it's common for a missed AF to be the first "symptom." If you do a search on the TTC grads forum, or a google search (no symptoms, BFP) you will find TONS of stories about women TTC that had no symptoms prior to a BFP test, women that really, really thought they were going to get BFN!

Can you tell I am trying to reassure myself here, too?

I am also scheduled for an HSG next cycle. I think sometimes if minor blockage is found, the dye from the HSG is able to flush it out (as in a mucus plug, mild adhesions, etc.) but if the blockage is severe, then sometimes surgery is required, or it's on to the next step. But think positive! Hopefully you will get your BFP this cycle and won't even have to 'go there'!

Sorry about having to wait till January, that's a bummer. BFP vibes to you, don't give up!

Hey, will you let me know how your dye test goes?! I really wish I could have mine done now, but I'd hate to see that bill if blood work alone was $600!

Thanks!

hey,
i would suggest something which is really difficult to follow but easy to say i.e. be patient. i dont know how many cycles have u been TTC by now? i have been hearing those things that it takes on average 1 year for a normal couple to get pregnant after they leave all the contraceptives but honestly i couldnt believe it. i was bound to be pessimistic as all around me couples were getting pregnant at their 1st or 2nd try and for me it took 7 months. Every month i got my AF like it could be matched with a clock and all our general tests were fine as yours. My DH's SA was perfect, my OV was fine. So that left me really frustrated.
Initially this month i was planning to go and see my GYN and go for an HSG test (She had been stopping me saying that it takes one yr for couples to conceive naturally, so i should be patient and optimistic which was very difficult for me to follow) but later on due to personal committments, i couldnt make it to the GYN and guess what i got a BFP this month. Thank God i didnt get anything done. Now i really believe that its not like a magic wand. Every couple conceive differently and so they might take longer than the others. So keep ur strength and it will happen when u'll be least expecting it. Lots of baby dust to u...

I will for sure let you know how the HSG goes....although I am praying I don't have to do it....I Want my BFP this cycle!

The nurse in the RE's office did say that, especially if the HSG is all clear, the patient's fertility is increased by up to 33% the first few months after the procedure...

Apparently, the procedure widens the tubes temporarily a little bit, AND the dye they use lubricates them really well, too, making the conditions ideal for a little eggie and sperm to meet!

I hope you get your BFP and don't even need the HSG.

I'm sorry that you have to wait a little longer... hopefully you won't need it though and you'll get your BFP before then!
