DH and I haven't told *too many* people that we are TTC.

I have told more people recently just because it's taking so d*mn long...

But when we first started, we didn't tell anyone because we thought it would happen quickly, you know?

So my aunt and I were emailing a few days ago, and she happened to ask if/when we would have a baby...I said that we were trying and getting a little frustrated (but did not tell her how long) and she wrote back that "not to worry, you are young and healthy."

HA. Young and healthy.

Yeah...I'm 28...DH is 32...we are young....healthy....

But that doesn't seem to have much to do with anything in the world of TTC, does it?

GRRRR.

I've had people say that to me before... but in another context- it's frustrating all the same! No one in "real life" knows we're trying, but we still get the "when are you having a baby" talk. We also get the "You should wait to have a baby" talk too. Followed by the "you're Young and healthy- you have time" It drives me insane! I'm 28 and DH is 33... and apparently, we seem healthy... we just can't seem to get pregnant! So, you're not alone!!!

I hate that. I've had many people tell me that. I tell then explain that my hormones are out of balance and age or health have nothing to do with it. If someone pushes it after that, I get a bit peeved and will tell them it's possible to be perfectly young and healthy on the outside, but have menopausal ovaries or many other issues. I try to be nice and educate them.

You aren't alone either. I am 26 and DH is 29 and we get it all the time. My SIL thinks we should wait 4 years to have another. I am beginning to think my MIL would love for us to have another now.

Another one I hear a lot (from my 'older' friends) they say "I feel like I am racing the clock because of my age to have another, unlike you since you are younger." Tell that to my ovaries, uterus, etc! UGH!

This makes me crazy. I always tell people-- it does not get easier to get prego with age, esp. when you have problems. DUH
