OK, well I went to my fertility specialist today and he did my post-coital test and it confirmed what he suspected. On top of my low progesterone, I am also not producing enough estrogen which is causeing my eggs to not mature correctly and I don't have much CM. SO....I explained to him that I have been trying for 13 cycles now and I wish I had seeked his help sooner because now I only want to try for several more months. The whole idea was to have my 2 yro someone close in age for him. So he told me since I only want to try for a few more months that we may have to take the more aggressive route. So he gave me 2 plans....

Plan A
to start progesterone the day after I O this cycle. Next cycle he will put me on 50mg of clomid, estrogen and robitussin and see if that is what i need. Each month he would up the clomid 50 mg. He said this plan has about a 22 percent success rate for each month..so it could take about 4 months. He also said this plan has a 1 in 50 chance of multiples.

Plan B
to start the progesterone as above. Next cycle he would put me on 150 mg of clomid and then we would be doing the trigger shots and an IUI. This paln has a 33 percent success rate each month , so it could take about 3 months. This plan has a 1 in 20 chance of multiples.

As long as my insurance covered most plan A would cost about $100-$125 each month. Plan B would cost about $160- $200. or something along that range.

Also because of my "EXTOADONARILY LONG" left fallopian tube it may take longer for me cause the months I "O"n that side may not even work

SO WHAT SHOULD I DO

That is really hard - the price is so close. I guess it depends on how much longer you really want to try.

If it were me, I would probably do plan A.

Good Luck!

That is a tough one! If it were me, I would probably start with Plan A and see how that goes. You can always do Plan A for a cycle and if you want to change after if it's not successful and jump right to the 150mg of Clomid, you could probably do that, right?

Either way, I hope that you'll be getting your BFP in no time!!! Good luck!

I also think i would try Plan A for at least 2-3 months and see how it goes. It might be all you need!

You could always opt for Plan B after a couple of months if you're feeling like it's not working for you...

Decisions are so hard!

I'm going to go for the unpopular option here and say Plan B. But, I am also the most impatient person in the world and I personally would LOVE multiples. If you don't want multiples and/or it would detrimentally affect your lifestyle I'd recommend Plan A.

Whichever you decide, KUP and good luck!!

You must have some awesome insurance for it to be so cheap!! I have to have an HSG done and the doctor said if he lists it as 'infertility' that insurance normally doesn't cover those things, so he labeled mine as abnormal bleeding (since my periods aren't 28 days) and so insurance is going to cover most of it.

If I were you and that was the price difference, I'd go with Plan B cuz I'm impatient too. It would be worth it if you get pregnant ASAP. I'm partial to the multiple births, but gotta do what you gotta do!

I wouldn't be able to wait much longer and would want to get pregnant ASAP! Good luck and let us know what you decide!
