Provera

Hi ladies,

So as you know I haven't gotten AF since September. I'm definately not pregnant and went to the doctor, who gave me some provera. So, I've had provera before and it worked like clockwork. This time around, I took it for 10days, same time everyday and I took the last pill on Sunday. It's now tuesday and AF still hasn't shown her face. No signs, no symptoms.

For all you ladies that have used Provera, did you get AF right after the 10th day???

Should I call the Doctor?

Come on ladies, I need your help!! Any answers would help alot!

Ive taken prover to STOP my period, so I don't think I will be much help. I know some of the other girls on the TTC with PCOS board have taken it to bring on AF. They may have better answers for you. Maybe you could ask over there? Good Luck

I've also had to have it to stop my periods, but I know plenty of women who take it for the opposite. One recently had the same problem you're having, called the nurse, and had to go back in for another round.

I'm sorry that you're not getting AF (how often is THAT said on this board?!

)...I would definitely call your doc to ask what your options are, especially since you don't even have signs of AF showing.

The last time I took it, the nurse told me that AF will sometimes show while you're on it, or it could take up to 10-14 days AFTER your last pill before she shows. I hope it's quicker than that for you!!

It made me have 2 periods! I had one about 4 days into it. That lastest about 3 days. Then about 3 days after the 10 days of pills, AF came again for about 3 days. I'm hoping she comes on time this month without having to use the Provera. Good luck to you.

The first time I took Provera I took it for 10 days and af came 4 days later. This month I took it for 5 days and af showed 2 days later. It was also MUCH worse after I took it for 10 days. AF was very heavy and came FULL force for 6 days. I mean FULL FORCE! This time it was only 3 days and the first day was the only heavy day.

Thanks Ladies,

This is like the 3rd time that I have had to take it. The first two was to get AF to come. And like clock work, after the 10th day, she came down.

Now it seems like even medication wont bring the evil heffa down. The faster she comes, the quicker me and af can have some fun, oh and hopefully make babies!lol

We've been trying for about year. We were blessed with twins that left us to be in heaven and since then, AF has been a ROLLER COASTER RIDE!

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your twins. I'm sure that this makes AF (or her absence) that much more difficult to deal with. How are you feeling today? Any sign of her?

I'm sorry to hear about your babies. I haven't had a . since Sept either. I'm on my 4th day of prometrium. I'm new to it, so I'm doing lots of research. Good luck to you.

I took provera this month to start AF too after 60+ days. It took 15 days after my last pill for AF to come, I was ready to give up hope. I did spot brown for a few days before actual AF. The first day was horrible. Probably the heaviest AF I've ever had. I was worried I was in for a week of hell but nope just the first day was that bad, the rest was fine and lasted a total of 5 days or so. Good luck to you and wait, I'm sure the witch will show sooner or later.
