DH ordered all my IVF meds today!! They are arriving via UPS on Monday. I won't be here because I'll be traveling for work, but DH will come home and make sure they get to a safe place I am so excited. It is still 9+ weeks away but it is starting to feel real! My protocol includes Lupron, Follistim, HCG, and Progesterone-in-Oil (PIO). Total was $1700+ but after insurance we only paid $240 Even though we don't start the cycle until Feb, we ordered the meds early because our insurance will pay $5K/year for fertility meds and we wanted to use up our 2008 benefit so we still have the full $5K for 2009 available if we need it

I just wanted to share my tiny ray of sunshine. I just have to pray now that they find out enough spermies in the testicular biopsy for us to do the IVF!! DH is scheduled for that on 1/30/09 - please send me any spare spermie dust

Thank you ladies! You are the best. Thanksgiving was ROUGH and I know Christmas will be harder - this will give me something to hold onto. You are so right - step by step, day by day.

Wow...that's so cool...I posted about my experience today with HSG/RE blah, blah, blah. I'm in the same boat as far as trying to use the money I have left in my FSA coupled with insurance up by the end of this year(2008).

Carrie - I'll go find your RE/HSG update now! I hope it went well. I remember my HSG a few weeks ago - man it hurt. I hope yours went much better!! I hear what you're saying about using up the FSA too - we put a lot of money into the FSA this year because we thought we'd be pregnant by now

April - just following up. Meds came today. I'm not home (traveling this week) but DH said the Follistim needed to be refrigerated. He said the box came FULL of stuff - drugs, syringes, needles, etc - I think he got overwhelmed seeing everything I'd have to go through in a few weeks

Yup, they arrived this morning! DH met the UPS guy at home, unpacked everything and gave me the full "report-out" LOL.

I'm going to have to hide most of the meds till February so I don't obsess about this until we're confirmed a "go" for the cycle. If DH's biopsy doesn't produce enough sperm, we may have to cancel the whole thing I'm trying not to think about that, and just take everything day by day.

Thanks Cris and Christina - I've never prayed so hard for something before. I'm trying to remind myself that whatever's meant to happen will happen - so no point stressing.

I sure hope they can find enough spermies in the biopsy - all they need is TWENTY!! God, I hope that isn't too much to ask!!
