Ladies, this is gonna blow your minds....(cause it sure blew mine)

So, I've been having really bad headaches for the last few weeks. I suspected that I needed glasses because my vision was also blurry. After a few minutes in the exam room with the eye doctor, she said my vision was 20/15 (which is better than 20/20) and she wanted to dilate my eyes.

So she did that and when I went back into the room for her to check my eyes, she told me that something didn't look right. So I said to myself, what's the worse it could be?????

She starts explaining that I have cranial swelling which is causing pressure on my optic nerve. Of course I was a bit confused. It seems that I have swelling in my brain that may be causing the headaches and blurred vision. It's called papilledema.

Now I have to schedule an appointment to get an MRI which is gonna be difficult since I dont have medical insurance. Hopefully I'll be able to make arrangements. Looks like my baby making is once again, going to be put on hold do to this crap. I am a little afaid because things dont sound too good. I went to the emergency room last night to see if they could help and it was pointless. They gave me a ct scan and told me that they didn't see anything but a MRI would catch anything.

Basically it can be anything from a brain tumor to extra fluid in my skull. For the moment, the baby is on pause and I have to figure out whats going on. Please keep me in your prayers and I'll keep in touch!

Thanks!

How scary for you! Of course, I hope that it's something immediately treatable. Anytime anyone mentions problems with the brain, I know that it's a bit overwhelming. I've had my fair share of head injuries and unexplained swelling. Luckily, it's rarely been anything serious, and if it HAS been serious, it's pretty easily corrected. Please let us know something as soon as you know!!! (And I would check around to see if there's some way to get help with the MRI...I know that some places have foundations for things like that and I'd hate to know that you put it off because you didn't have the money for it...)
