This place has been quiet lately, so let's try to sauce it up a bit...Tell everyone a secret, or two, or three.
DH is gone tonight and I secretly love the night's I'm home alone. I don't get many of them, but love to be able to do my own thing periodically.
I really don't like my step FIL much. I try, but he's just so weird.
Even though he's a nice person, I think my boss is a complete idiot. I know a bunch of people on my team, including me, could do his job much better than he does. You couldn't pay me enough to take over his job though.
I know it's horrible, but I secretly adore that my niece prefers me over my mom. I don't want my mom's feelings hurt, but my niece and I have a really special bond that she hasn't duplicated with anyone else yet...of course this excludes her relationship with her mommy and daddy. No one can top them yet.

I miss select people in my family in New York, but have no want to go back there.
Not really a secret, but I hate my mother's boyfriend, who happens to be one of my sister's father. Life is strained between us all and is the big reason I don't want to go visit family. My son has never met my mother.
All of my sisters and I have different fathers - my mother became a widow from her first husband and never married after that. I am the product of a blind date.
I would really like to find my father, but am worried that since he supposedly wanted me aborted that he still won't want anything to do with me now.

I actually have a ton of secrets...
I can't stand my in laws for the most part...especially after my FIL rambled on a few weeks ago about how kids raised by single mothers are nothing but trouble (i was raised by a single mother and I think I turned out pretty great)
I have no desire to do anything except work from home. I am in school for my vet tech license but I would rather go to school for Equine Mangement at Iowa State or Vet school...because I want to either break horses for a living, or open my own vet clinic...but since DH is a farmer we can't move anywhere for me to school so I will just stick it out because I love him....
I really REALLY don't want to have an epidural when I give birth....I was in wal mart a couple of years ago and there was a woman in a wheelchair and she goes "are you pregnant?" and i was like "no...why?" (I was shopping for a babyshower gift) and she goes "well I am in this wheel chair because my anesthesologist messed up my epidural and I want all women to know that pain killers arent worth this"...and I really didnt want one before that because I am terrified of needles..especially huge ones in my spine..but that kind of verified me not wanting it....BUT at the same time....giving birth terrifies me.....especially the tearing/cutting that is usually required!
i think 3 is enough for now..i could go on! haha

Sometimes I get mad at DH for our MFI issues.
Now I'm really going to hel*!

Amen Sister! Unfortunately I am seeing the inlaws this year.
My secret: I'm not excited to be going on our cruise in January. My parents booked it as our Xmas gift - my whole family will be there. I'm not excited 'cause I have horrible motion sickness! "um yeah, great mom, you booked a cruise - gee thanks".

Hmmm...Secrets... I have a few...
First- My MIL is currently driving me beyond crazy which is strange because we normally get along so very well. When we're around family though, she likes to be the center of attention and she'll try her best to accomplish that. Her stories that she tells have gotten out of control. She makes up facts and tells things in a certain manner so as to make her look wonderful or to make her story even more interesting. It makes me crazy because I know her stories are interesting and would be fine if she just told them the way they actually happened!
Another one- when I first met DH I borrowed a pair of his old mesh running shorts the he no longer fit into and have yet to give them back. We're looking at 8 years ago here. When I know he'll be out of town, I'll dig out those shorts, spray them with his cologne and sleep with them. It's a comfort thing for me! He doesn't know I do it either.

LOL - Cris - that is HYSTERICAL. Sleeping with the shorts is one thing, but spraying them with cologne - that takes it to a whole new level!!
That reminds me of another secret:
Whenever DH goes out of town for business, I lock the bedroom door, stack a chair under the doorknob (like that would really stop anyone from getting in if they wanted to), and sleep with our landline phone and cell phone (in case someone cuts the land line) on my pillow and my sneakers at the edge of the bed. Now mind you, our bedroom is on the second floor, so it's not like I really have any place to run should I need to escape, but the sneakers just really make me feel better.

hm..
I don't really get along with my dad's side of the family.. I really wouldn't mind if I never saw the majority of them again.
I don't speak to one of my sisters at all, I can't stand her... not really that big of a secret though. lol
When DH is gone I sleep in his favorite sweatshirt sprayed w/ his cologne every night. I also have to make sure everything is locked every night and my gun is on the nightstand.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to "smell" their DH while they're gone! But you're definitely more sane for wearing a sweatshirt rather than sleeping with a pair of running shorts!
