I keep thinking about this...
We are on cycle 19 of TTC now and if i dont get a bfp
on sunday onto mth 20...
Just wondering how long you girls would wait till undergoing
fertility treatment?
Me and DB have said we will wait till after my 25th birthday in may
as then we would of been TTC for 2yrs with no fertility probs
We will get our name on the list for IVF but the list will prob be long
so we will save some money and fund one try ourselves.
You get up to 3 trys of IVF on the NHS over here.
Sarah

Here's hoping you get a BFP and have no need for IVF!
DH and I decided before we even tried that I wouldn't go through it. I would rather put the money into adoption. But that's just me.
My cousin-in-law is undergoing IVF right now, but with her sister's eggs. She's already been through 2 rounds and has one more left. They can't afford any after that. She found out before she turned 30 that she'd gone through early menopause! I feel lucky that there's always been at least a *chance* for me to get pregnant, considering there's NOTHING they can do for her other than this.
You've had no fertility problems and have been trying for almost 2 years? Has a doc given you ANY explanation?

My next step is fertility drugs if I don't have a BFP in the next few months and if that doesn't work then I'll probally give up. Im not really wanting to try IVF.

Well Im going on my 8th cycle, so when it gets to one year my Dr. advised me to go back and see what we can do from there. They dont see you earlier then one year unless your over 35.

DH and I have been ttc #1 for 14 months without success....we are onto month 15 now since AF showed yesterday.
We have called the infertility doctor and are just waiting to receive the questionaire in the mail to fill out and return and for them to get my medical records from the obgyn to set up our first appt.
DH and I decided that we are going to do whatever is financially possible to try to have our baby and if we have to do IUI or IVF, then that is exactly what we will do!
GOOD LUCK to you!!!

Our only step left will be fertility drugs. We have a time limit imposed by my doctors. Hopefully all I need is the drugs. DH's plan doesn't cover IVF and with the limit its not an option.

We were going to wait till we had been trying for a year and a half before I went to the DR but when I had the M/C the Dr decided that he was going to do a CD 21 check up and when he did he found out that I was not ovulating on my own like I thought I was. We never put a time limit on it that we was going to stop we would have done anything to have a baby no matter how long it took us.

I went through menopause early so my only option is IVF using donor eggs. I'm moving in a week so I'm planning on doing it later in the year after I get settled.

Ladybird, where are you from that you would put your name on a list for IVF? There are other forms of fertility to try before IVF. Check out IUI......We are doing IUI with the next 2 weeks. We will do 3 cycles of IUI, then on to IVF.

I won't do ivf. Just a personal thing I guess, no real reason. If I don't get pg within 4 months of when dh and I finally get to live together I will be seeing a doctor for some answers.

Sarah--your doc hasn't bothered to run tests of any sort?! I hope that you consider testing before going through IVF. Often, the fix is simple and inexpensive...I'd hate for you to have to go through the procedure only to find out that you weren't ovulating or something basic like that!!!

I guess I hadn't really thought about it, we thought we would just try for 6 months and then go to a specialist and see what happens from there. It's past that now (9 months, I'm approaching 35 and DH is over 40), and we've got an appt. with an OB/GYN.
I would like to try all the tests first, and then whatever drugs they want to try on us, then maybe lap if needed, and then if all that fails, I would go for IUI and probably IVF, if we could afford it. Meanwhile, I'd be getting on the adoption list, just in case. Hoping it doesn't come to that, because I really want to be pg so bad, and have one of my own.

I am from U.K.
I suppose we have not looked into all thetreatments avail as we hoping
it will not come to that, But IVf is the treatment thats the most succsesful
with people i know so i suppose thats why it comes to mind.
I have decide to go my Dr once Af starts and demand blood tests to check
my hormone levels. My Dr sent me for a scan and DB for sperm count
which were both fine but surely there is more to be done than that huh?
Thanks for feedback ladies
