Hi! Sorry I've been MIA for awhile. I finished my 2nd round of 50mg Clomid and will now likely be increased to a higher dosage. I am spotting today so I guess it didn't work. We are officially 12 months TTC.

Anyways, I called the DR office to schedule my HSG (I'm set up for Janaury 9th). I asked if my OBGYN does IUI's or if I needed to see a specialist. I even asked 2 different ladies there (nurses) and they didnt know what as IUI was. I tried to explain it and they thought I meant Invetro (which I did not mean!).

Can anyone tell me what IUI stands for? I explained it as someone injecting sperm into my uterus around ovulation time.

She did say he'd have to refer me to an RE specialist, but strange that my OBGYN office wouldn't have any idea about that?! Any ideas?

Thanks!

P.S. Did anyone from the December testing list get a BFP?

That is really weird they don't know what an IUI is. IUI = intra-uterine insemination.

That is crazy - but I had a similar experience with inept office workers. Grrrr! I am starting my 12 month now (and still on 50mg clomid)

I can't believe that they didn't know what an IUI was! For your sake I hope they don't do them there. You wouldn't want any mix ups.

Luckily the office wouldn't do the IUI. He would have to refer me to a specialist. But, this is the same guy who didn't really understand what CD (cycle days) meant when I gave him my charting. You know, he's delivered TONS (probably hundreds or thousands) of babies and has been a OBGYN for awhile now. Strange that he could seem ignorant at things like this? Although the IUI question was not asked to him, it was asked to 2 of his staff nurses. Maybe he will know what an IUI is?! I hope!!!!

Thanks girls!

Do you ladies ever feel like you are becoming a fertility/charting specialist? I swear that the longer this takes, the more I think I know about TTC'ing than the doctors do!

Wow! I can't believe that they didn't know what an IUI was! I hope you won't need one there cause like Kim said, you wouldn't want a mix up! Hopefully you'll be on your way to a BFP before that point though!
