Just letting you ladies know that's my next step. EEK. My appointment is at 12:45 Friday. I'm getting myself nervous, but I'm very prepared at least. DH is going with me, so that ought to be more calming for me. I'm just praying they don't find any issues so that we can go back to Clomid next cycle. I've been having really bad pains at the beginning of the last 2 cycles, however, and my doctor (and especially I) think it's due to some endo. They are still having me do this HSG, and if the pain happens again at the beginning of next cycle (which hopefully won't be an issue because I hope for a BFP ), then we are going to talk about getting a lap done. I think that's ultimately what I need, but hoping we can catch the eggie before that point. I'd like to get back on Clomid and give my body a few more "real" shots at this.

As for this cycle, just the HSG, no meds, and lots of prayers. Since being off BCP (17 months ago), I've NEVER ovulated 3 cycles in a row on my own! So this cycle is the true test.

Anyway, just a small update on what is going on with me... let's all just get BFPs this month (and next) and be done with all this TTC stuff, ok?

Try not to be too nervous Jackie... I hope that everything goes really smoothly and they find no issues. I like your thinking about us all getting BFPs and being done!

I'll be thinking of you and saying some extra prayers that you'll be getting that eggie before you need any thing else done!!

Thanks, Cris!! One less thing to worry about would be great! Granted, it still means unexplained infertility, but at least I'm narrowing down the causes (hopefully!!)

I hope you get good answers and a BFP without having to go through a lap and everything. Good Luck! I will be thinking of you!

Good luck tomorrow Jackie! I'll be thinking of you at 12:45 and wishing you lots and lots of luck!! I hope they don't find anything but if they do at least you can do something about it. Don't forget to take some ibuprofen before your exam and it'll help with the cramping. Let us know how it goes!!

Thanks, Juli!! I seriously almost forgot about the motrin! I'll be sure to take some before I leave for it. I'm at work until 11 today, then meeting DH at home before we leave to go to Pittsburgh.
I'm getting quite nervous!

Well- I'm done. It was NOT FUN!! But I'm glad to have it done and have it BEHIND me (hopefully forever!) Without getting into details (TMI!!), we had a problem with the first speculum they tried, which caused them to have to use a second one. Big UGH. Once that was in place, I was already sore. Then came the fun with the catheter. Luckily, the first one they used (with the balloon) worked well. That was the painful part. I didn't feel much more discomfort with the dye, and then a few minutes later it was all over. I've only had some minor cramping this afternoon.

Another point of interest was the fact that I was lucky enough to have a student in there with us. He's in med school or whatever, so this was an observation for him. Let me tell you, what an uncomfortable thing to have to "show"! That situation actually helped me in the long run because the doctor (who was VERY nice) explained everything step by step to the other guy (who was younger than ME ) and I knew exactly what they were doing and what to expect.

The doctor could only give me preliminary results, as they take the film and pictures to another area where they have really big screens to check everything. But the GOOD news is that the dye went all the way through and we had spillage on each side (which is GREAT). No blocked tubes!! I know I used to have a very small fibroid on my uterus and I totally forgot to ask him if he could see it. I'll ask my doctor next week. So that's good so far, and hoping the rest of the news will be great as well!! Now my plan is to ride out this cycle like usual (and hopefully end with a BFP ). If I get pain with AF again (long story- it's been ongoing) then I have to go in to talk to my doctor about setting up a lap (which means another break from meds). If not, I'm going back to Clomid for a few cycles.
