So, basically it was just a consultation. He didn't do an exam after all--although the person on the phone had said he would. He looked at my temp charts and said it was perfectly clear that I am ovulating. He then laid out a plan of action.
1. Get bloodwork done on cd 3 (Free)
2. Get DH a semen analysis ($40 copay)
3. Between cd1 and O get vaginal ultrasound and dye X-Ray ($650 + $75)
4. Begin Ovulation induction and insemination ($1500)

Because we are young-he said he is sure he can help us achieve pregnancy-it is just a question of how to do it in the most cost-effective way. Now we just need to decide how much we can afford to do how fast. My insurance will reimburse 70% of the big costs--but we don't have credit cards so we would need to come up with the cash up front. I think that I could come up with the $$ for the ultrasound/xray costs within two months. So I would have 2 cycles of just doing what we have been doing. The actual treatment would take us awhile to save up.

On a cm note--you all might be interested to hear that he said they used to do expensive tests and treatment for low cm-but found that it ultimately had such a miniscule impact on pregnancy that they don't even test that anymore. So, he said don't bother doing all of that stuff to increase it (like robitussin, etc.) because you need very little actually to support sperm.

I'm not insurance's biggest fan right now. I'm sorry that it's going to be a while before the testing can be done, but I'm with Becky...I hope you get pregnant in the 2 months you're saving. That'll show 'em...AND you'll have a little bit o' baby money already saved up! Woohoo!
