I am TTC for 12 months and DH has had an SA, I've had 3 rounds of 50mg Clomid, all bloodwork checked and had HSG. ALL were perfectly normal!

I have my next appointment on Feb 2 with my OBGYN. I have asked him to refer me to an RE because so far, besides the things listed above, he hasn't checked my follies or anything else to be sure I am ovulating. I've read a lot of posts here where some women are getting checked in all kinds of ways! I don't really understand what or when they are doing these things.

So........can you let me know some of your experiences with your RE. Like when they will check to see if I am producing eggs (what is that called) and things like that? I really need to be informed before my next office visit so that I can let him know exactly what I want!

Thanks!

My RE jumped right in and wasted no time. I had done 4 rounds of clomid before seeing her. DH's SA came back normal and so did my HSG. She bumped up my clomid to 100 mg for one month so she could do ovarian reserve testing. She did blood work twice that cycle to check my ovaries, but I can't remember which days. She had me give myself a trigger and we did an IUI so we wouldn't waste the medicated cycle. Because she was doing the ovarian reserve testing, the cycle was considered diagnostic and insurance paid for the clomid and ultrasounds.

The month after that she did a lap, hysteroscopy, D&C and injected dye into my tubes. It was nice to get that all done at one time. I chose to do that before injectables as insurance would pay for that procedure but wouldn't for the drugs.

Luckily I didn't need injectables, but her plan was to keep me on those up to 4 months if needed with trigger and IUI and then I would have been onto IVF.

Hi..i m new on this site.i had 1 st round of clomid last month with 50mg dosage. My gynac did a day 13 ultrasound to check if i had mature folllies(which i did not have),so i went in day15 again and the follies had shrunk further.so she did not give my the HCG shot.On day 21 i went in for blood work to check progestorone level, which was very low 1.5 something(shld b atleast 12).So this month she prescribed 100mg clomid and the same drill.day 13 and day 21.i am waiting for AF to come to start my 2nd round of clomid.

Did you get CD24 bloodwork done to check your progesterone levels? If so and the results are normal, that means you are ovulating. If you want to take matters into your own hands, I'd suggest temping, using OPK or getting the CBEFM just to be sure. After one month of monitoring, you should have a good indication of whether you're ovulating or not. Also, keeping track of your O dates will help you determine whether your LP is normal.

Good luck!
