I'm debating finally investing in a fertility monitor. I've hesitated due to the cost. I've been doing some research and I like the idea of the Ovacue (no additional test strips required). Before I put down $300 + I wanted to know what you all think.
Do you use a fertility monitor?
What kind?
Why/why not?
Thanks!

I had one.. a ClearBlue Easy one.. I didn't really like it and thats mainly because my cycles are irregular so it didn't really work for me. Also the test strips for it got expensive.

I used the CLear Blue Easy one too - I liked it, but to April's point, it worked for me because my cycles were under 45 days. If you have cycles over 45 days, it won't work as well. And the test strips can definitely get expensive - I had to use 20/month because my cycles were on the lengthy side, so I was buying a new box at $35 every 6 weeks... But, I will say the results were always dead-on for me. It was a lifesaver during those busy months when we were too tired to BD all the time or had to plan travel for work, etc.
Good luck!!

i used the CBEFM too, and i loved it!!!!! loved it loved it loved it!!!! i bought it on ebay so i paid a lot less. i reset it so it wouldn't have the past owners info in it's memory and i bought the sticks on ebay too much cheaper.
I loved it!!!! it NEVER EVER failed me!!!
I'm going to be selling mine when i get in my second trimester, so definitely look on the second hand market for them.

I don't have one and have never used one. I'm just not into spending the money when internet cheapie OPKs work well for me, and my body is pretty predictable (now watch- my body is going to go crazy just cause I said that LOL). You should definitley check out the ones on EBay though... why not save money when you can!

$150 for a used CBEFM? That is steep. I got mine NEW on drugstore.com for $159. Also you can get them much cheaper on e-bay as Lynda suggested. I just looked and someone has an auction for a NEW monitor + strips that's running at $118. There is a Buy-It-Now offer for another NEW one at $142.99. And if you want to buy USED, several that start at $10-$20!

buy used!!! you don't need new. i've done it twice and sold mine for MORE money after I was done with it. i don't remember what i paid for mine, but it wasn't over $50. sticks i usually pay about $20.00 and each box is a 3 months supply. G/L

Thanks for clarifying April.
Good luck in what you decide Kimberley. Ebay has become my new obsession lately

Thanks for your help. I'm still not sure if it's worth the money or not. Between the OPKs, preseed, FF, etc - who knew that this would cost so much?
