Here's my post from MFI - wanted to keep you girls updated too
So, as some of you know, we had to get up bright and early for my first ultrasound this morning – I was supposed to officially “cycle in” at 8am. Bloodwork, ultrasound, the works. Well, I didn’t sleep real well (I think because I was nervous) so I was kinda out of it when I woke up. I stepped into the shower a bit groggy and before I had even both feet in there… I bit it. Slipped off my right foot, went flying, landed on my tailbone and cut my head on the metal rim of the shower door along the way. DH heard the whole thing and ran into the bathroom to find me wailing on the shower floor with my hands and face covered in blood.
He decided I needed to go to the ER, so I agreed to go but of course, only AFTER my RE appt. So DH took me to my RE appt and told the RE what happened. The RE looked at my scalp and said, "yeah, you have a big hole in your head." I started crying because I was so worried about possibly messing up our cycle; I didn't know if the drugs/anesthesia from having to put my scalp back together would cause us to cancel everything going on (I later found out I also broke my tailbone during the fall). But our RE said it was still very early, anything they gave me now would not interfere with my protocol at all. So he still did my ultrasound and then shooed us away to the ER.
At the ER, a doctor saw us right away, which was wonderful. The triage team ended up putting 7 staples in my scalp, before realizing that the staples wouldn’t work because my cut was so jagged.

So, then they took out 5 of the staples, and put in stitches instead. DH almost passed out in the room watching all this; I guess he doesn’t do well with blood

Good to know.
The added irony of all this – the ER doc also wanted me to get a CAT scan because he suspected I had a concussion and I was getting dizzy / nauseous. But the CAT scan people initially wouldn’t let me come in because I am a 30 year old female and they had to make sure I wasn’t pregnant! They wanted to see a negative pregnancy test before they would do the scan. I was like, “Believe me people, I am most certainly NOT pregnant. In fact, I just started an IVF cycle this week and am paying a crapload of money to GET pregnant. There is an RE about 200 yards away who can vouch for me.” They finally let me in after that
On a happy note, my ovaries and follies look wonderful, and I got my instructions to start "stimming" on Saturday. I hope this is it for my bad luck streak - after DH's grandma dying, my mom getting hospitalized, and now my head concussion/broken tailbone, I need some good news...
