my mom had stillborn twins and my dads brother has twins so they already run in the family..unless its just the men but now he has me all upset..i might need clomid! im going for the testing this month..im starting to home my progesterone and fsh tests are okay because he has me a wreck! grr

My RE said the chances of having muliples while on Clomid only goes up 8-10% so that's not to bad. I wonder what her dose was?

I don't know where I heard it but multiples run on the mom's side so dh's family doesn't really count when it comes to multiples. Its a good possiblity for you though since you have them on your side and with the added chance with clomid. I'm sure you won't be given any more than you can handle!

i'll still be sure to take the clomid days 5-9 lol

also..what were your side effects from it? i read that some women are SOO emotional by day 4 of it =/

Just wanted to add. Our dr. wants us to do the IUI and chance of twins rises to 20-30% with the drugs you take for that! Of course the chance of getting pregnant at all is only 18-20% but still.
DH said he'd rather have twins and get two for the price of one. LOL.

Oh, wow! Well, the good thing is, chances of triplets are pretty low!!! I'm sure that wouldn't comfort DH at all, but... I'm sure that he'll be supportive if you have to go on meds. We'll just hope that you don't, to keep everything less complicated!

Dawn--HAHA! My DH said the same thing. "Can they MAKE you have twins? You know, so you get a 2-fer? Or so that women don't have to keep trying for so d@mn long to have 2?" Hehe. A man after all our hearts.

HA! HA! my DH said the same thing. He is actually hoping for twins!!! we don't want an only child- I am one- and I want my child to have a sibling(s). so he thinks that since we are having such a difficult time conceiving this first time around, it would be great to have twins and if we couldn't get pg again then it would be okay.

I won't tell DH this, but I am secretly hoping for twins also!!!! although I don't care if it's one or two or three as long as I get pg, it sticks and we have a healthy baby or babies!

Sure-Clomid is for no ovulation or trouble ovulating...Apparently my charts could be in a textbook my ovulation pattern is so clear and I have pretty regular cycles too. Before we actually do the IUI we have to get some tests done-I need the vaginal ultrasound and the X-Ray where they shoot dye into your tubes to check for blockage and dh needs the semen analysis. But our doc thinks that becaus we are so young, have no history of drug use or std's and no symptoms of anything else wrong, that we will most likely fall into the "unexplained" infertility category. At which point, IUI is our best and most cost-effective option for getting pregnant. Of course, if it turns out I have endo, or cysts, or blocked tubes, the plan will change a bit. If dh has a low sperm count we will still do the IUI.
