Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but trying to find out more info about fertility! I am blessed to already have 2 boys, but now have been trying 6+ months to conceive #3. I had 3 miscarriages after #1, 2 miscarriages after #2, and now it has been 6 months with NOTHING!!! As I was reading through this thread, I kept coming across 'stress' as a factor. has anyone ever researched the adrenal glands? It is the only thing that I have found recently that is kind of new to me. The adrenals play a huge role in fertility, as they produce a lot of sex hormones, including progesterone, which is "pro+gestation". If your body does not produce enough progesterone, it is almost impossible to get pregnant and stay pregnant. When the adrenals are stressed, apparently they have to use more zinc to produce a stress hormone, which takes away from the zinc required to make progesterone. Does anyone else know much about this? It kind of makes sense, but wondering if anyone has been tested, or tried anything.... Thanks!

hmmmmmmmmm that makes total sense to me, but i hadn't heard it before. i took progesterone supplements after Oing and i still take them now that i'm pregnant to sustain the pregnancy. it is true that if you don't produce enough progesterone, you can't hold a pregnancy!!!

congratulations on your pregnancy! do you live in the states? are you taking an artificial progesterone, or natural progesterone???? in canada (where I live), natural progesterones are illegal, although you can buy them over the counter in the states. please let me know. if you got them from a doctor, did they give you a reason why you were not producing enough estrogen??? thanks!

hi there, thanks so much for the congrats. i am SO excited. i do live in the states and it's a natural progesterone suppistory (sp?) - i had to go to a special pharamacy that actually had to make the stuff????

it's not that i don't produce enough estrogen, it's progesterone that i don't produce enough of. they didn't know why it was low and it wasn't dangerously low, my OB just didn't want to take a chance on it. so she prescribed it. that sucks that it's illegal in canada. i wouldn't use anything that wasn't natural. you can get natural creams in the states without a prescription. i think you can purchase it online at GNC. you just have to make sure it's the natural form. the natural form is usually much more expensive than the synthetic.
