Help! What type of ovulation kit should I use? My husband and I've been TTC for 7 months now and I feel like we're getting no where.

Also, I am 30 do think it's too soon to test for FSH? They have kits you can test right from home, has anyone used them?

Thanks!
Kell

Hi Kell, I don't think the home FSH tests are reliable. I also tell you that I think 30 is too early to worry about FSH. But if it makes you wonder, it's a CD3 test, just ask your dr. to do one. it will put your mind at ease.

as far as OPKs, I found clearblue easy (with the two lines/available at walmart) to be the most reliable, and I tried them all!!! don't use the answer brand with 20 dip sticks - they are so sensitive they produce loads of false positives. G/L

I generally use OPKs from Here They are very accurate for me. Other people really like the Answer brand tests from Walmart (I never had great luck with those myself though). Some people have better luck than others with certain brands so it's really kind of a trial thing. Also- there are the digital ones that take all the guess work out of it, but those are a bit pricier.

As far as the FSH test, I'm not sure when it would be appropriate to do that test or if any "at home" kit would give you accurate results... Hopefully someone else can offer you some insight on that! Good luck!

I haven't heard of the home FSH test, so I have no info for you on that one.

I use Answer brand test strips (20 in a box) but they last me 2 months.

Thank you so much for your response! I think I will try the non guessing one which seems to be the Clearblue Easy ones. =) I do have one question though, what is the CD3 test?
