My doctor is sending me for a progesterone level in the morning. I really think it's a waste of time because I totally know that I ovulated. Also, I will only be 5 DPO. Nevertheless, I am thankful that my doctor likes to monitor things closely. She's a real sweetheart. Anyway, I know I will not get results until Monday. I will update you all when I get them. My last progesterone was 28 at 7 DPO, so I am not really worried.

Well, my progesterone level at 5 DPO was 39.1!! WOO-HOO! I hope that means good things for my little follies (hopefully embies by now). I am testing Friday if my temps stay up. They were up this morning. The two days prior to that I was definitely mouth breathing, so hopefully that is why my temps were low.

Hey your temps look great right now! I hope they stay up for you. I will be testing on Friday as well, even though I'll only be 6 DPO. I just know I'll be feeling the urge by then. So good luck! I hope we both caught it this time!!!

Um, I am going to take the time to type this out for you because I think you will really like it!!

I have my progesterone lab results from my test back in Sept. Here are the "normal" ranges that were printed on the lab slip for reference:

Follicular phase (pre-o): 0.2 - 1.4
Luteal phase (right after o): 3.3 - 25.6
Mid-luteal phase: 4.4 - 28.0

Pregnancy 1st trimester: 11.2 - 90.0
Pregnancy 2nd trimester: 25.5 - 89.4
Pregnancy 3rd trimester: 48.4 - 422.5

See where I'm going??

That totally makes me smile!! The thing is, if I produced multiple follies, wouldn't I have a higher progesterone level? I hope the answer is no, and I am in the first trimester. LOL!! I was only 5 DPO, could I have possibly implanted that early?

I think multiple follies could lead to higher progesterone levels, because I believe progesterone is generated by the corpus luteum (the shell the egg leaves behind when you ovulate). So 2 follies would equal 2 corpus luteums and possibly higher progesterone - but you could also be in your first trimester It is possible to implant at 5dpo. But remember you don't need to implant for your body to produce the progesterone - the trigger is ovulation. That's why if you do IVF (which bypasses ovulation and therefore no corpus luteum) you have to adminster the progesterone externally via injections or suppositories because your body is not producing it naturally.
