I thought I would be pregnant within 3 months. Seriously. I figured with all the hoopla about using protection all those years, it would naturally happen. However, I will say that when I was young (pre-BCP time), I had irregular periods, so I felt like something was wrong then, but as naive as I was, I figured BCP would fix it. We're on month 15. UGH!

Our TTC journey: 6 cycles Clomid, lap surgery/ D&C, IUI, 2 x IVF; 33 cycles- BFN.
IVF#1 (March 2010) Transferred two 8-cell grade A (perfect) embies- BFN and heartbroken.
IVF#2/FET#1 (Jan/Feb 2011):Transferred two (7&8 cell) grade A (PERFECT) embies- BFN again.
March 2011- February 2012: On BCP due to endometriosis.
March 2012- taking a few months off of BCP and we are TTC naturally.
We will re-evaluate another IVF w/FET try in 2013.

I figured it would happen within 3 months too. But if you had asked me 5 years ago, I probably would have said it would happen the first day we BD without protection. I didn't know anything about only being fertile around ovulation time, nevermind knowing how to figure out when you ovulate!
I guess I was half correct, because I did get pregnant on my third month trying. But I never imagined I'd have a miscarriage....nevermind two. So we've been trying since April 08, but it's only been about 7 true cycles (since I was pregnant for some, and then avoiding for two because of the m/c).

I don't know why, but I thought it would take us a while, but never this long. I figured 6-8 months tops. I guess it's cause I know our schedules (DH works nights) so I figured that would pose a challenge. I thought it would be fairly easy for us to conceive once we got the timing thing down, but apparently not! We're in Cycle 21 but month 19 now and not that I'm losing hope for this cycle, but it seems that medical testing may be in our near future....

I always knew that I would have trouble getting pregnant. I even told that to DH before we got married, but like Christine said, I never in a million years thought that I would miscarry. AS soon as AF gets here we will have been trying for 13 cycles, but it has been off and on since December 2006. DH was deployed 3 months after we started TTC, and we resumed trying once he got back a year and 4 months later.

yea, i gotta be honest in telling you all that TWO m/c's had put some serious questions on ttc in my mind. my OB tells me that most M/Cs are caused due to abnormal chromosomes and that makes me very very nervous for the future. we're going on 14 months of trying with two losses in there.

Well I was kinda like Amanda. I knew that it would take us a while to concieve. I had irregular cycles and we had not used protection (irresponsibly) before and nothing happened. Plus my parents had secondary infertility and it took them 7 years to get pregnant after me, and Mikes parents struggled for about 13 months to concieve him and then 2.5 years for his sister! But I did think that it would only take us to around the 1 year mark. We are now going on month 21 here soon of TTC!

I thought that it would likely take probably 6 months, but I for sure thought I would be pregnant long before we reached month 13 or 14! I mean, we weren't even trying when we got pregnant with AJ and nothing has changed since then (I am what I was when I found out I was pregnant with AJ and DH has even lost weight since having AJ). I have "regular" cycles even.

For some reason I always thought it would take us exactly 6 months. Don't know why. We've been TTC since Dec 2007.

I totally thought I would never make it to TTC 6 months + (no offense to anyone because I love it here). Now, we are about to start on month 15. I never imagined it would take this long. Totally makes me want to cry!
