I miss that you can't put a "subtopic" under a post
I had a bridal shower to go to on Friday. Unlike me, I haven't bought a gift yet! Almost everything decent is gone from the registries, so I'm going to go "off-registry".
I was thinking of putting together a basket with honeymoon/beach stuff (don't be thinking dirty ladies!) With towels, maybe a blanket, sunscreen, an underwater camera, maybe a couple books, etc. Or as I'm typing this....I could always get lingerie.
But anyone else have any good ideas of things they didn't necessarily register for, but think was a great idea??

One of my guests had my wedding invitation professionally framed for me. It was beautiful and something I would have never thought to do. I loved it and it's got a special place in our foyer, so everyone sees it as soon as they walk into the house

You know what was one of the best surpirses that I got for a wedding present? Keep in mind DH and I eloped.... but one of my co-workers arranged to have chocolate covered strawberries and champagne sent to our hotel room! It was such an awesome and romantic surprise!

Great idea, I just don't know what kind of invitation they've ordered yet. I have a gorgeous frame that I got that holds a picture and my invite, but had I gotten a square invite, it wouldn't have worked. I'm sure they've ordered it though, so I could find it.

Another great idea, although I'd still need to *give* her something at her shower. I did just email the MOH to find out where they are going though! So I may do that just as a nice thing too, or a day at the spa or something!

hahaha Sorry, I was thinking it was for the wedding, not the shower.
I think lingerie is ALWAYS fun to give. The naughtier the better. LOL I have also included motion lotion and condoms. LOL It usually gets a good ruse from the other guests.LOL

One of my shower gifts was my invite scanned and blown up and the front of it scanned and put on it too
Something someone else got me was a bunch of "patio" or party stuff all in a basket. It has a pitcher, 4 cups, 4 stir sticks, etc.

For my Bridal Shower, I got a scrap book made by my bridesmaids for DH and I. each of them made a few pages with memories of them with us.
I know that would probably take time, but I also received a blank scrapbook with all sorts of wedding quotes and stuff and they left places for our pictures and programs and stuff. I thought that was really thoughtful. But again, I'm not sure how much time you'd have to do that.
Another idea... you could get a picnic basket and put a bottle of wine, candles, romantic music CD, blankets, a cook book, anything that would inspire a romantic picnic for two (even in their living room)

For my bridal shower, my mom and sister got me, among other very nice gifts from them, a sexy nightgown with a card on it that said "first year of marriage" and then as a joke, a non sexy pair of pajamas that said "every year after that" as a funny joke. I liked it.

Thanks everyone, it's been really helpful!
Cris I love the scrapbook idea since I've been doing scrapbooking lately and have quite a few empty books and a ton of paper and wedding related stickers, etc. I'll probably do that as part of my wedding gift!

I thought that the scrapbooking might be something that would spark your interest! I'm so jealous of people who have the creativity to do that stuff!
I'm sure your friend will appreciate and love anything that you decide to give her!

I bought DH's cousin the books "52 Nights of Great Sex" and "52 Nights of Great Romance" - I think that's what they're called. They contain 52 envelopes to plan romantic/sexy nights!

hmmm....best gift i got was a basket of cleaning supplies with a little story. It was funny but it was from my best friend who knows me very well, so that made it especially hilarious!! My favorite gift was the cupcake carrier...anything useful is always nice!! I've been married for 4 months so many of my gifts haven't even been opened yet!
