So my 30th bday is on Tuesday. I knew DH wouldn't let it go by without doing something. Initially I made plans with a gf for Saturday night, and when I told him, he was kind of hesitant to ask me to cancel, saying "Try to leave Saturday free". Which I assumed meant he was having some sort of surprise party for me.

A couple days ago he asked me to go see our neighbor's (Irish) band play on Thursday (last night). We've seen him a few times and they're really good. I thought it slightly odd they were playing at a hall, because we've seen them play at this one bar before, but I didn't think much of it.

We go to walk in the hall and I hear the band playing, and open the door, and there is 50 of my friends and family for a surprise birthday party! Since I thought something was planned on Saturday, it didn't even cross my mind! I was SO surprised! I open it, and see my Uncle Tom and I'm thinking "How does Tom know Scott (the guy in the band)"...then I'm thinking "Why are there tables set up, as opposed to just chairs"....it really took me like 10 seconds I bet to know what was going on LOL

I think my cousin got a pic of me walking in, and my MIL (who drove 3 hours to be there) got video. I'm sure I look SO confused!

TTC on our own for over 2 years
Dx with Severe MFI- Blood work shows no Microdeletion and no CF mutations

Ultrasound scheduled 3/22- DONE! Everything looks normal, other than some cysts on my right ovary.
HSG scheduled 4/14- DONE! Tubes are clear!!
On BCP until our IVF w/ICSI scheduled for August!!!

Our TTC journey: 6 cycles Clomid, lap surgery/ D&C, IUI, 2 x IVF; 33 cycles- BFN.
IVF#1 (March 2010) Transferred two 8-cell grade A (perfect) embies- BFN and heartbroken.
 IVF#2/FET#1 (Jan/Feb 2011):Transferred two (7&8 cell) grade A (PERFECT) embies- BFN again.
March 2011- February 2012: On BCP due to endometriosis.
March 2012- taking a few months off of BCP and we are TTC naturally.
We will re-evaluate another IVF w/FET try in 2013.

I do have a wonderful DH!

I think I'm fine with turning 30, really I don't see the big deal (although I do have 4 more days LOL)

The only thing that might "bother" me is that I'll be 30 and still without kids. You know when you're 18 you think, I'll be married by 25, start having kids by 27 and done by 30....that's what I thought anyway! Not getting married until 28 and 2 m/c later really foiled those plans lol But I have a good life, and it'll happen....and I'm a young 30!

awe how sweet. He sounds like an amazing DH. Happy early birthday!!!! I think that turning 30 is a great part of life. I think that the thirty's will be some of the greatest years of my life. I do understand the thought process of not having children by the time that we are 30. I hope that it happens really soon for you.

Awww, how sweet! I love surprise parties! Your DH is quite a guy! I wanna see that pic of you too!!!!
I turn 29 at the end of this month, so DH is always telling me to enjoy the last year of my 20s. I tell him I'm not that concerned cause my 30s will be better! LOL... Plus when I turn 30, he'll turn 35, so I can pick on him for being close to 40!
