Congrats! I loved my acupuncture appointments and miss them. My acupuncturist was big on doing appointments every week except the second week of my LP. She thought that was a big no-no. She was also really big on diet and herbs, but left how much of that I followed up to me. If you haven't already, you should take a look at The Infertility Cure book by Dr. Randine Lewis. It's awesome! I hope your acupuncturist is able to help.
Acupuncture doesn't or shouldn't hurt. I only had one needle that hurt the whole time I did it and my acupuncturist removed it when I told her it was agitating. My insurance didn't cover my treatments, but I did get a price break because of my insurance. I think the price varies by area of the country and by the person treating you. It took me a long time to find the person I wanted to go to and I talked to a bunch of acupuncturists on the phone. A lot of them turned me off with their "I know better than you" attitude. I wanted someone who was going to work with me, not on me. A lot of acupuncturists say they treat infertility, but that doesn't mean they specialize in it. There are a lot of great acupuncturists out there though, so good luck to anyone who decides to go that route.
