DH's SA might not get covered by the insurance afterall. I called this morning to order it from my OB and he didn't want to have the lab do it. He wanted to send DH to a Fertility Specialist because their tech will look for more things than the lab will. So there is a chance it will be out of pocket and there is a chance the insurance might cover part of it and even slimmer chance they will cover it all.

I gave them DH's number in hopes he will make the appt himself with no problems. I hope it doesn't backfire on me - I haven't heard from him since. He won't see the doctor, just drop off/give them a sample.

Ughh, it's so frustrating, Christina. I'm going to hope he makes the appt and gets this taken care of, and even more so that insurance at least pays *some* of it!

Although our insurance pays part of diagnostics/consultation, we have a lifetime benefit of hardly anything that I've already gotten into because of the HSG. As for the s/a, we had the basic one done in November(ish), which we got to collect at home and take there, but we're having that more detailed one done at the RE's office next month. He told me it had to be done at the office no matter how close you are... don't know if that'll apply for you though..

I hope your insurance will end up covering it... and I hope your DH will do it! I say push him like Lynda said! Look at what I had to do just to get an appt to talk to a Dr from my DH! Good luck!
