Hi Ladies! I have been checking out this website for a long time, and finally decided that it was time to join. You all have been wonderful without even knowing it, your posts and stories help to keep positive!
DH and I have been actively TTC for 9 months now. It has been so frusterating! My Cycles are every 27-28 days on average, and this last time, It didn't come until 30 days, so needless to say, I was completely let down. On the other hand, both of my sister-in-laws annouced they were pregnant (they just went of the pill-one is actually ready to have her boy in about 5 weeks) and that has made it equally as hard on us. Can we really be trying toooo hard??
Anyway, DH and I went to my Doctor about a month ago, we fibbed and told her we were trying over a year already. She gave us the go ahead for DH to get S/A , and we have an appointment this Friday. DH and I are extremely nervous about it, I am not sure what to expect! I guess if he is ok, there is probably something wrong with me, but I didn't think it would be weighing on my mind so much! I know DH is nervous too, but he said he would rather go first so I wouldn't have to go through any tests in case it is him.
If any of your ladies have any encouragement for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I know that when its our time for our BFPs we will get them, I just never thought it would take so long!
Well, thanks for reading my post, and I hope to get to know some of you soon, and I hope to help you all through your journey as well.

Kelly. I'm Kimberley and DH is Jason. I totally understand about fibbing to your doctor. Believe me, I would have done the same thing if it was possible. I hope that you don't have to stick around for too long (meaning of course that you get your soon)!

Welcome to the group! It's good that your doctor is ok with at least getting the s/a done- it's a start!!
I'm Jackie (27), DH is Jon (28), and we're in our 16th month of trying for #1. We've recently found out that I have a mostly blocked right tube, so we're hoping surgery will fix that and we can move on to our BFP (if that's the true problem). I want to wish you luck at your appointment!

I'm glad you found us! It's so helpful to have a group of women understand what you're going through! I never thought it would take this long either!
I am Christine, and DH and I started TTC #1 last April. I have been fortunate enough to get pregnant twice, but both ended in miscarriages (at 10 weeks and 6 weeks).

hi kelly and welcome, glad you came out of lurking!!! it's great here as you have already seen!!!
sometimes getting pregnant just takes time. there is a 20% chance of conception each month with a healthy couple. so there might not be anything wrong with either of you. it took me 8 months before i got my first bfp. so hang in there. but i agree that it's good to take the tests and see if anything is wrong.
glad to have you girl. and keep us posted!!!
HUGS

Hi im Kate (27) and DH Jason (35), we are going on cycle 15 soon, i have to take a break for a couple months tho because of complications...my RE just told me that the average healthy 20 year old only has a 20% chance every month so dont give up, and you will get that BFP soon! and BTW it is impossible to not try to hard when you are TTC!

Welcome Kelly! I hope that your stay here is a short one and you get your BFP really soon!
I'm Cris (almost 29) married to Shawn (33) and we've been trying for our first for 22 cycles. I just went to the Dr today and we have a good plan of attack to work on now!
Good luck to you!!!

Hi Kelly! I just joined this group of ladies too and I'm so glad I did!
I'm Jenn (30) and dh, Ian (31), and I have two boys. Liam is 3 and Lochlann is 19 months. We're no strangers to conceiving taking a long time though. We got pregnant on the pill but unfortunately that ended in a miscarriage. Then it was 28 months before we got pregnant with Liam! Then I got pregnant with Lochlann while I was still breastfeeding Liam before I even got my first post partum af! And here we are again, on month 6, and still nothing. Just goes to show your body can do very different things and there is no rhyme or reason to it!
I hope we all get our BFPs very soon!!!

Welcome!! I am so sorry things have been so frustrating for you!!! Try not to worry too much about it. DH was told he was "superman" and I actually havent had any diagnoses either so we are still dealing with unexplained infertility....anyways, my point is dont think there is anything wrong with if DHs SA comes back fine....it could very easily be something else...have you charted or used OPKs to track your ovulation? Just curious! If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask!! <<<HUGS>>>
I am also the co-host here along with Lynda so if you need anything at all just let us know!

Welcome! I'm Juli (30) and we were TTC for over 14 months. I just wanted to say, don't be scared of the testing or even the results you get. Even if they are not as great as you wanted, the important thing is you are finding out and can take steps to improve the situation. We were shocked when DH was diagnosed with SEVERE MFI (almost zero sperm) back in October 2008 (he's one of 10 kids, no history of infertility anywhere in his family). It was devastating to get the news, but we dusted ourselves off and kept chugging forward. Six months later, we were pregnant! So there is always hope. Chances are, you will pass your tests with flying colors, but if not - don't give up!!
