My DH just texted me and asked me to ask you ladies a few questions if you don't mind... He said he woke up from a sound sleep and this was all he could think of so he asked me to talk to you...LOL

First, He wondered just how much "stuff" should be in the SA cup. So, those of you who's DH's have done the SA, did you hppen to get a glimpse of how much was in there? (God that is such a strange question). I think he's paranoid after thinking he's have to fill the whole cup.

Then he wanted to know if we were "technically" TTC with MA now (or with the next cycle actually). As he phrased it, "making a baby with the Dr" Men! I honestly don't know how to answer that one, so you'd be enlightening me too.

Sorry DH and I have so many questions! I think he's really getting excited! I know that I personally can't stop smiling since yesterday! Thanks for bearing with me!

Too funny Cris.

Your DH is so cute. When Derek had his done, honestly there wasn't alot in the cup. They give you such a big cup that the "stuff" just gets lost in it. So tell him not to worry, he definately won't need to fill it.

You'll be TTCwith MA next cycle but I'm hoping you won't need it and you get your bfp this cyle.

Yeah, I did look at it when we were leaving to take the sample to the hospital (I got to keep it warm on the ride there, lol). There wasn't much in there at all, so tell him not to worry. It hardly covered the bottom of that huge jar, I swear.

As for ttc w/ma... I don't know whatever you want to consider. I'd say if you are having something done medically to help you conceive (not sure b/w would be considered that really), then it counts I think. I'd personally think that the cycle of your HSG will be starting with a ma, because it *can* help some get pregnant (not only diagnose problems if there are any). It's just personal preference though. I didn't consider I was using ma until I started Clomid.

Our TTC journey: 6 cycles Clomid, lap surgery/ D&C, IUI, 2 x IVF; 33 cycles- BFN.
IVF#1 (March 2010) Transferred two 8-cell grade A (perfect) embies- BFN and heartbroken.

IVF#2/FET#1 (Jan/Feb 2011):Transferred two (7&8 cell) grade A (PERFECT) embies- BFN again.
March 2011- February 2012: On BCP due to endometriosis.

March 2012- taking a few months off of BCP and we are TTC naturally.
We will re-evaluate another IVF w/FET try in 2013.

Thanks Christina! It's good to know about the SA cup! I'm sure he'll be relieved!

Thanks Jackie! I'm sure he'll be under a lot less stress now that I can tell him that there doesn't have to be a Ton in the cup! And I agree that MA is actually doing something that will help you get pregnant... I think he's just trying to make heads or tails of the fact that if we get pregnant on the next cycle (after the bloodwork and HSG possibly) if we technically had MA to do it, or if we really did it on our own! I give him credit for asking questions though!

I agree with the other ladies, Cris. I was all worried about the amount of the SA too, but apparently whatever we had was perfectly normal, and I will tell you I was worried that it wouldn't be enough.

`That is too funny. Dh didn;t have much in ours either. He said that he was a little semen shy when it came to doing into a cup. But it was more than enough to get our results. I would agree with the others that you will be TTC with MA starting next cycle.

The minimum they look for is 4ml - that's the equivalent of ~1 teaspoon. Yep, not a whole lot. Tell Shawn not to worry

Whoo hoo for your DH's "stallions"!!! LOL I figured we were still a cycle or two away from being considered MA'ed.

Semen shy... now there's something you don't hear everyday! LOL At least it was plenty to get the results!

Cool... I'll show him what a teaspoon looks like (the man probably has no clue) so he won't worry! Thanks for that info Juli!

Yeah, I'm still kinda laughing myself... I keep on reading the text messages and giggling. He goes from not wanting to see the Dr at all to Mr Million Questions in no time flat!

Shawn wanted me to thank you all for your help when I talked with him last. I couldn't tell him all the details cause I was on speakerphone at his practice. I didn't think it would be an appropriate conversation for 40 high school boys to hear! But we are both appreciative!!!

HA HA HA Lynda! Yeah, he's a pretty funny character! I actually talked to Toni last night on the phone and she said she'd challenge him to actually fill the cup! LOL
