AF FINALLY showed Thursday (I had 5 days of spotting!). Tomorrow would be the day to start the clomid and I have been looking at my charts. I am beginning to think my "slippery" days aren't as slippery as they used to be. So despite how much I hate the taste of medicines like Robitussin, I am considering taking it. When and how often do you take it? Do I just take the recommended dose for the few days around my positive OPK? Can I buy store brand or do I need to get name brand?
TIA!

If you don't like the taste of the robitussin, you can try mucinex? It's a pill form. I believe they even make a generic. I believe you're looking for guaifenesin. Make sure you get something that only has that as the active ingredient! I'm not completely sure how often or when you should take it, so I hope someone else can help you out, but I do believe the generics are ok! Good luck and I hope it helps!

I definitely agree with taking Mucinex. I would try it once a day like right around when you would start getting +OPKs, maybe a few days before. If once a day doesn't give you enough, then take more. Just don't take more than the recommended daily dose. Good Luck!

Actually, I took a generic brand of robitussin and used pre-seed the cycle we got our BFP so I would def suggest taking it!!! Who knows what actually worked, but I tend to put at least a little stock in those two things. Good luck!!!

I didn't even know that robitussin/mucinex would make you have more cm, I might have to try that next cycle if there is a next cycle !!

The cycle that I got pregnant (miscarriage) I took Mucinex from cycle day 1 through till Ovulation, I also took EPO evening prim rose oil cycle day 1 through till ovulation. It helped SOOOO much. I will be doing that again this coming cycle if this one is not successful

just to clarify ladies, mucinex/robitussin does not give you MORE cm, it just makes the fertile cm you have a bit thinner and easier for sperm to travel into/with. evening primrose oil is what is to INCREASE cm.
you should take your mucinex 4 or 5 days prior to Oing. G/L ladies, now i'm going to go buy some stock in mucinex - LOL

I think we have some mucinex so I will make sure it only has that one ingredient and start taking it soon. I can't do preseed cause of the cost (I am already dropping money on the clomid that my insurance company doesn't cover).

Hope it works! I don't think I get enough CM compared to what others seem to say around here, but having gotten pregnant twice, I've been thinking my CM isn't a problem so I've been hesitant to start anything. I'll be curious to know if/how it works for you though!

Here's an article I found on the web awhile back when I was considering taking Robitussin: Robitussin for Fertility FAQ - Fertility Plus Hope that helps somehow. I haven't read it in a while, so I don't really remember how much information is in it. I assume it was helpful enough for me to bookmark it though!
