My doctor's office called back this morning, and my doctor felt like this would be a good time to do the HSG. All of the sudden, I am really nervous about all of this. I am actually shaking! I haven't really talked to DH about any of this, so I just sent him an email asking him what he thinks about it. I haven't heard back from him yet. Now, I am checking with my Insurance Company to see if it is covered or not (it should be). I am so nervous.

****UPDATE****

So I talked with my insurance company and they HSG is covered 100%!! WOO-HOO! The procedure is scheduled for NEXT Thursday, April 9th at 12:45pm! OMG!! YAY, now I am excited....and a little nervous!

I hope someone here can ease your fears about it! I also hope it's covered. I think it's a great next step though.

Just an update, I talked with my husband about it. He thinks it is a good idea and is all for moving forward with it. I don't know why I was nervous that he would object, he never has...

My doctor's office called back and she scheduled it for NEXT WEDNESDAY! OMG! I had to call her back though, because I have some work obligations that day that I can't get out of. So I asked her if we could change it to Thursday or Friday. I hope it works out and I can. I am also waiting to her from her about a procedure code and a diagnosis code so that I can check to see if my insurance company will cover it. I think they will, but I just want to MAKE SURE! Otherwise it costs $566.50, and we would probably have to wait a bit to do that.

So have I mentioned that I a freakishly nervous. I don't know why because I know that it is no big deal.

I know you're nervous... I was too when my Dr wanted to hop right into an HSG for me, but he said it's not that bad, to take 600 mg of Ibuprofen before hand and to remember it's a step in the right direction. Why put off the inevitable, like he said... (I'm still nervous and praying HARD CORE that I don't need one).

In the long run, I'm sure you'll be happy to have it done!

Now I'm curious about the price for it in NY... Our insurance covers most things fertility related, but I have to meet our deductable first and since we're never at the Dr's, that will take some time. I thought it would be in the thousands of dollars... Hmmm....

But I digress... Hopefully they will get you in on a day that will work for you and you can put that behind you!!!

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to be nervous! I was super nervous as well, but had read a bunch about it online before going in so that I knew what to expect (a good place to search HSG topics is the ttc w/ma forum to see what others have experienced). It was uncomfortable, but was over so quickly. And Cris is right- just try to keep at the forefront of your mind that this is one more step in the right direction. The reason my RE is waiting to do the lap is because he likes to make sure his patients have tried the 3 or 4 cycles after the HSG since it can increase your chance of getting pregnant. That was out of his mouth! They usually need to do it before CD 10, so I'm not sure if they'll put it off as long as the end of last week. They don't want it interfering with your ovulation time.

EEK- I'm so excited and glad that you are getting it done!

That's great! The last thing you should have to worry about is if insurance is going to cover it. I'm so exciting for you!
