TMI warning!
So some of you read my post about the "holy condom" as Lynda so aptly put it. If not, our NFP counselor will have us use a condom with holes in it if we have to get an SA done. It's a Catholic position supposedly. That way some semen still gets in me, and the DH doesn't have to masturbate into a cup.
Well, when I told DH about this possibility, he actually got a little mad. Said he doesn't want to use some malformed condom just so it looks good to the church. He would prefer to do it like most would have to, in the cup. So I told him that sometimes they even let you take the cup home so you can do it in the comfort of your own home. To which he replied, "I'd rather just do it there, in some room there. Just get it done and over with. I can crack one off anywhere." OMG, TMI even for your own wife!
I could not believe he just said that. Are guys really that into sex that they're willing to do it anywhere?!? He then proceeded to tell me a story about a couple of his friends who's flight got delayed by hours and hours, and so they thought it would be "fun" to go into the restroom and see who could "finish" first. Again, OMG!!! I don't need to know these things - now I'll never be able to look at these guys in the same way as before. Are all guys like this? Am I just that naive?? Sorry, I just had to share with someone, and you guys are the only ones that know we're TTC right now.

LOL Ditto to Christine... my DH isn't like that- he was very happy to do this at home in his own privacy, but told me was ok with having to do it at the hospital next month.. he wasn't all "no big deal" about it though.

Mine isn't either. Tony is actually a little worried about his and wants me there with him (and we are Catholic - he is a cradle Catholic too).

He might be using jokes to cover up for the fact that he's nervous about doing this. My husband made all kinds of jokes before his SAs, but when the time came (no pun intended), he admitted that he was nervous.
I think there are definitely guys out there like that, but thankfully most grow out of it at some point

My DH isn't like that at all... He was REALLY relieved when I told him the Dr said he could do the SA at home.
DH and I are both Catholics and when I told him about your "holy condom" he just shook his head and said it didn't make sense. He then proceeded to tell me that I should ask his Grandma about it (She's seriously could be like one step away from being a Nun LOL). Um... Yeah, there's a conversation that I want to have with your 82 year old Grandma who can't hear and doesn't know we're TTC

That is hilarious!!!!! DH is a little more bashful about it I think. Although men do really strange things with their balls when they are in college. I found this out when my husband had to explain to me what the "wild turkey" was. Just use your imagination.

Good thought, but no. I can always tell when DH is nervous about something - he never jokes when he's nervous. I don't think he'll be nervous until it actually comes time to do it. He was sincerely offended when he heard about this.

I don't even want to know what that is! LOL!
Here's a link that I found about the condom though in case anyone is interested: Male Infertility

When my DH was on his first tour, the guys did this game where you had to trick someone into looking at your stuff. I was horrified when he told me this. Guys are so gross, I couldn't imagine my reaction if one of my girl friends did that to me. I would faint.

Thankfully my DH isn't like that either...
Will all the SA's he's done and then for our IUI's as well, he much prefers to do it at home... he was pretty uncomfortable with our first IUI, just doing it right there in the building (they have you go in the bathroom and it's pretty much down the hall from the waiting room and all the staff offices are right there too so everyone can hear you)..
I'm just hoping that he's comfortable at the IVF clinic, but I know he'll do it no matter what for me.

My DB isnt like that, but his friends are! When Chris had to do his first SA he did it in the office because he thought it would be easier than having to do it at home and drop it off.. lets just say the 2nd one he did at home! He said the 1st one wierded him out by being in a strange drs office.
