I was just talking to a PG friend about my frustrations...she said that her dr told her that there is research now showing some could get pregnant faster coming right off the pill than "getting it out of your system." This would make sense for two of my friends...one who just told me yesterday that she is pg and just came off the pill...I have been off for a year. Anyway, the way the friend I was just talking to got pg with her first is that the dr put her back on the pill for three months and then off of it-they got their BFP right away!

I wish it worked that easily for me. I came off in June and have been TTC ever since. I had heard from some to wait three months and have heard from others to TTC right after the pill because you are most fertile. Well, we did not wait. I finished the pack and then we started trying. I have had horrible cyles and cramping all the time ever since.

I am jealous of those people who get pregnant right away. I guess everyone is very different and it does work for some people.

I have heard that before. I have contemplated it, but it has been so long since I've been on the pill that I'm extremely hesitant. Plus, I was told that I would have to go back on it for 3 months and then come off. So if it doesn't work, I wasted 3 months plus however long it takes to get my cycles back on track.

I haven't heard of that theory, but just thought I'd add my own experience: I went off the pill in early July last year and got pregnant in November without trying.

I have heard that some are more fertile coming off the pill, but I have also heard of a lot of ladies have difficulties re-regulating their cycles. I guess it varies for person to person. I am not sure if it is worth the risk.

Yup, my doctor and I were just talking about that. He said that the month a woman is coming off of the pill is often the most fertile month she can have. I got pg the FIRST month off of the pill with ds and we only bd on CD 10-I ended up getting the flu that month. This time I wasn't so lucky, I haven't o'd since I"ve been off of it. My doctor said it is very common to put someone on the pill just to be able to take them back off for that fertile month. Now I'm on clomid......

I asked my doctor about issues with cycles after coming off of the pill because I have had wierd cycles since coming off of the pill. He said that you really aren't trying to regulate after the pill you are just going back to the way that your body would have been all of those months you were on the pill. When you bleed on the pill you aren't even really having a period, it is fake withdrawl bleeding. When you go off of the pill you are simply starting to have real periods again and getting used to your real cycles not really reregulating. My doctor said that the pill was the only thing making my cycles normal and even then I wasn't having true cycles anyway because when you are on the pill you aren't ovulating. I haven't ovulated since I've been off of the pill and I've seen two doctors about it and both of them say it is no way related to the pill. Good luck to you all and hoping we all can have November babies!!!!!
