I go in to see my OB on THursday, I believe I have LP, I usually O on cd21 and AF on cd28.
However I am still nursing DD (she is 1) and I hope he is not just going to tell me to quit nursing. What tests should I ask him to run?

TIA

There are a few different tests he'll probably want to run--FSH, perhaps being the first. You'll be tested on different days throughout your cycle, but it might be messed up if you're Oing on CD21. Definitely tell him that. Take in all your charts and other fertility records. That way, he can't send you home to chart, etc. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that he will tell you that breastfeeding is causing your problems right now. The other problem is that many of the meds you could be prescribed to help you may suppress lactation, so your breastfeeding may come to an end, anyway. I'm sure he'll go through the tests if you want them, but the majority of the time, breastfeeding is the culprit.

Do you mind if I ask: did you try for DD, and if so, how long? Your OB may consider this in the testing, want to know about your problems then, etc.

Sorry it's such a difficult road! I hope that your OB is able to give you LOTS of answers and options! Is your appointment specifically for this, or is it a basic check-up?

Good luck, and please keep us updated!

It actually took us 9 yrs to conceive DD due to bad endo, I have since had surgery and my OB wants me to go on Lupron, to help clear it up further. I have to quit B'fding to go on it so I have been putting it off. My endo was pretty bad, cysts on liver and appendix so I think he will probably corner me into getting on that before helping with my cycles.
Thanks for your answers, I appreciate it

I have a luteal phase defect (O on CD14 and 24 day cycles). I took my temperature charts (3 months) to my doctor and she agreed that I probbaly have a luteal phase defect. She suggested either treating it with progesterone supplements or Clomid. She had me go in for 2 blood tests: FSH on CD3 and progesterone on CD 23. The progesterone test came back low and now I am on Clomid.

Good luck.
