Hey everyone! I'm new to these boards but been TTC since July '08 so decided I need to reach out for others who are in the same spot. It's getting inscreasingly frustrated and it seems like all the other people around me can say is: don't worry, it will happen when you're not even thinking about it, or... well don't worry, some people wait years before having their 1st, you've only been at a little while....it's so obvious those people never had kids or never had a hard time TTC because they would know that I'm so tired of hearing those comments, hehehe!
Here's my story (as short and sweet as possible!). Been married since July '08 and been TTC ever since. Been with my DH for almost 10 years now and hope to someday have a big family, so definitly ready for baby #1. I'm 26 and my DH just turned 30. I'm a teacher, and this year I've been teaching grade 1 for the first time. I love it, but it's very hard to go through the day with 28 little 6 yr olds who absolutely adore me but who aren't mine and it just reminds me sometimes how badly I want to start our own family! Don't get me wrong, I in no way resent my kids at school, I really love them, but it makes it a little harder when you know you have what it takes and have all the will in the world but still no success! Plus, my cycles are irregular and go anywhere from 32 to 55+ days sometimes so charting is very difficult and a longer cycle means less tries! Argh! I'm sure some of you (if not all of the women here) have an idea what I mean...that's the main reason I decided to finally post because I'm just trying to find other people to help me along the way. Thanks a bunch everyone, I feel a little better already. Looking forward to your posts...please share your stories too!

Hi Lisa! I am Ashley (31) and DH is Nathan (32 next week). We have been TTC for 16 months now. I definitely can understand your frustration with other people's oh so thoughtful comments. Glad you have joined us. I hope your stay here is short and sweet.

Welcome to the group- we're a tight knit group here, and I'm sure we all can relate one way or another to the comments you mentioned.
I'm Jackie (27), DH is Jon (28) and we're in our 17th month of ttc our first. I do recommend charting, especially because your cycles are irregular. That can give you a better look into whether or not you are actually ovulating, and if you are- when. I look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome!
I'm April (22) married to Jeff (23). We're on Month 18 of TTC our first, we're dealing with MFI (male factor infertility). Actually we're in the middle of our first IVF cycle right now. Good Luck!

Hi Lisa and welcome!
My name is Jenn (30) and dh, Ian (31), and I have two boys and are trying for our next baby. We lost our first through miscarriage and then it took us 28 months before we got pregnant with our son Liam--he turned 3 at the end of December. Oddly enough, we conceived our second son Lochlann (20 months on the 21st) my first post partum ovulation while I was still breastfeeding Liam (he was 10 1/2 months at the time). I'm still breastfeeding Lochlann but this time is proving more difficult--7 months trying with no luck.
I also struggle with long cycles, thus ovulating late--sometimes not til CD33. They say that if you ovulate late it compromises the health of the egg and harder to conceive. I'm trying soy isoflavones next cycle (can you tell I'm not optomistic about this one? LOL) to help me ovulate earlier so we'll see if it helps!
Sorry for the novel but I hope you get your bfp very soon!!!

 Lisa.
I'm Kimberley, married to Jason. We're on lucky cycle #13 of TTC our first after a m/c last year. This is fast becoming my favourite group on JM because we are all experiencing similar issues.

Thanks to everyone who posted! This is helping already. Jenn, that's a good idea! I've read a bit about Soy Isoflavines on a few boards I've been checking out since I got here and I think I'll read up on it more seriously. If all is good, it's sounds like it might be worth a try.
Here are a few more details, hope it's not TMI. This is the 3rd time I've had a really long cycle (55 days today). So that is kinda starting to get me wondering what's up with that? I'm gonna start trying to take my temps again too. My puppy ate the thermometer last cycle, so I'm gonna start trying again tomorrow.
I guess another important and unmentioned factor that scares me, is my sister's story. She's been married and TTC for 5.5 years and still no luck. She has many medical conditions I'm not aware of having, so I hope that there's nothing hereditary (trying not to worry about any of that yet, but it's always in the back of my head). She is also 5 years older than I am.
Anyways, I think I'm going to enjoy this board a lot! Just what I needed!

Hi I'm Amanda (28) and DH is Michael (26) We have been TTC #1 since December 2006, with a year and 4 month break in between because he was deployed with the military. We had a miscarriage at 12 weeks Feb. We are currently back on Clomid, and trying again. I hope that your stay here is short and sweet and that you get your BFP soon.

Lynda, you`re so right! I`ve been posting like crazy since I got here and I already feel like I`m starting to catch a bit of what`s up with everyone and it`s very reassuring! Thanks again to everyone who posted a welcome! I`ve already started reading all of your posts and I`m trying to keep up with all the new stuff. It makes this long process less lonely! DH was getting to a point where he didn`t know what to say anymore to reassure me (and I guess I can`t blame him! I couldn`t even reassure myself most of the time!) so I`m very happy I joined this board....and it looks to me like I picked the best one too! You ladies have been awesome so far!

Welcome! I'm Juli (30) and we finally got our BFP after 14 months. We were diagnosed with severe male factor infertility and through the grace of God conceived via IVF this past February. We all know how painful those TTC milestones are... and I can't imagine being around little ones that remind you every day how much you want one of your own!! I hope you find some peace and solace on these boards, these ladies were my lifeline during some of my darkest TTC moments. Welcome!!!

Thank you so much! Most days, the kids are an absolute blessing and make me laugh all day but once in a while they're just a reminder of how hard this thing really can be sometimes. And congrats on your BFP! Looking forward to reading your updates!
