I just got back to work (it was pretty fast all and all). While I was there, I got my yearly pap done (even though I'm still spotting), and I'm GLAD to have that over. Of course, that has made me bleed significantly more since leaving the office... blech.

Anyway, about the real reason I went. We had a nice long talk, from the partially blocked tube my RE saw, to my period pain, to the long infertility journey we're still going through. Basically he told me (which I was finally glad to hear he agrees with me since I brought this up freaking 12 months ago) that he believes I have endo. Duh! He did do an internal exam and didn't feel any swelling or lumps around my ovaries, so that is good, and I hope to get confirmation on the u/s tomorrow. Long story short, he said he would gladly do the surgery for me, to go in check for endo, and clean it out if any is found, BUT, since I'm working with the RE, he said he'd recommend having the RE do it so he can do that AND fix the tube. My OB is comfortable looking at the tube and doing mild outside-the-tube stuff, but he thinks my RE would be better and have more experience with actually repairing it if there's a bigger problem. I appreciate his honesty. He kept saying "please don't take me wrong, I really want to help you and I will treat you if you want me to, but I have to throw that out there". *sigh*

I was thinking of trying to move my appointment up with my RE (from May 27th), but honestly, it's not going to do much good anyway. Jon still has to take off work to get his s/a thing done (that more detailed IUI prep one), and we have to work around his coworkers' schedule. I do agree with my OB that I want both issues taken care of at once to the best of whomever's ability... I told him how scared I am to go through another cycle and period because of the pain.. he prescribed me Percocet for when that time comes, but advised me to call my RE and see if he wants to see me sooner. BUT even if I do go in sooner, wouldn't I have to prevent this month in case we get the surgery scheduled for before AF?? Ack, this is too much thinking!!! I'm going to sit down and talk to Jon about it, but I really think I'll just be dealing with one last painful AF (which will be right around the time of my RE appointment)...

**Saturday morning update**

Nothing exciting- we got to the hospital in plenty of time- I think we left at 7:45 and got there at 8:30, which was great since there was no traffic!! My bloodwork was quick and painless (I LOVE when a nurse is really good at putting the needle in and it barely pinches!) The u/s wasn't fun, as the wand kept putting lots of pressure on my sore spots in there... my left ovary has been especially bothersome the last 2 days, so that was NOT fun- but it's done and over with.

After discussing it further with Jon, we decided to move up my appointment. They have me in for May 12th. I couldn't be happier- that should be right after I O'd, so hopefully we can schedule the lap that much sooner. I won't know the results to my tests today until then, but at least it's less than 3 weeks away- yay!

Ahhhhh, Jackie! I am so sorry! I do think it is good that your OB is being very open and honest about his limitations. That is the sign of a great doctor. I hope you can get it all taken care of quickly so that you can get on to that BFP!!

I am so sorry Jackie. At least your doctor was truthful and gave you all of the details/important info for you and Jon to discuss. I am sure you will come up with the best decision for all of you. Keep us updated!

Thanks, Ash. When I went into the office today, my OB was helping a lady (probably 7 or 8 months pregnant) and her 2 little kids that were running around... he's SO good with the little ones, and I want more than anything to have him delivery MY little ones one day..

Thank you, Christina... I will sit down and talk with Jon this weekend... he's so rational about everything that I think he'll be the best person to steer me in a direction and I'll go that way.

Thanks, Cris.

I'm sitting here at the computer stuffing my mouth with cereal because I have to fast for 12 hours for my bloodwork and I only have 7 minutes left to eat!

Jon and I talked about it, and he wants me to call the RE and see if I can move my appointment up by about 2 weeks, that way, even if I have to go through another painful AF, I'll hopefully be set up for the lap right after AF leaves. We may forgo his s/a test for a while (since his regular one did come back normal after all), and just focus on getting me pain free and healthy in there. He's such a good hubby...

Thanks, ladies!

I did forget to mention the downside though... Jon still wants to get his s/a done with before the appointment, so he's going to go get it done May 8th.... that is CD 17 for me, and is the only time he can really do it. I usually O from CD 17-19, so it's gonna kill me not to be able to BD... I told him since the 8th is a Friday, that he needs to be prepared for the weekend! So I'm going to keep my fingers and toes crossed that I O later than usual this month... because we can't BD 3 days before his s/a.

On a side note, I think it's silly he even has to have this done since his regular s/a came back normal. I really think this is to see if we are good candidates for IUI though, since this s/a is called an IUI Prep and Swim-up. EEK! Progress- whew!

I'm glad you are moving up your appt! Sorry about the S/A timing, that does kinda suck - but everything is moving you one step closer to that BFP!! Just keep your eyes on the end goal and you will get there

Thanks Cris & Juli...

Juli- your words of wisdom never go unnoticed.. you have a way of picking me up every time I'm down and I thank you.

As for me, my pain down there is going away at last- with an AF that keeps coming back each day.... but I have TERRIBLE lower back pain... and it's been getting worse since AF started, normally it would be gone by now. I'm assuming it's all related. Oh well- I just hope I have some answers and a plan in a few weeks.
